The IISc Bangalore Research Science Initiative Program is scheduled from June 15 to July 26, 2025 and is targeted towards young minds with an opportunity to engage in advanced research in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Students can apply for the program on/ before 25th March, 2025.

IISc Bangalore Research Science Initiative Program

• The summer internship will last for 6 weeks, starting from June 15 to July 26, 2025, at the IISc campus in Bangalore.
• The program is entirely free of cost and the accommodation and food expenses of the selected students will be covered.
• Selected students will engage in rigorous coursework, hands-on research projects, and mentorship by IISc faculty members.
• A symposium will be conducted at the end of the program wherein the student must present their research findings.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the IISc Bangalore Research Science Initiative Program, students must meet the following criteria –

• The student must be an Indian citizen.
• Student must be currently enrolled in Class 11 or recently promoted to Class 12.
• During the 6-week program, the student must have completed Class 11.
• Student must possess a strong academic background and interest in STEM subjects.

Note – Apply individually, as the program does not accept school nominations.

Selection Procedure

• Applications will be evaluated by a selection committee comprising members from CEE and IISc.
• The selection process will consider the following –
  • Academic achievements
  • Standardized test scores
  • Recommendation letters
  • Personal statements

2. At most three recommendation letters
3. Statement of purpose

1. Interested students who meet eligibility criteria can visit the the application portal by using the link given below
2. Next, click on the “Sign Up” button
3. Then, candidates will have to register by providing their mobile number and email and create a strong password
4. Based on the above information, the registration number and log in credentials will be generated
5. After successful registration, candidates must log in using the credentials and fill out the online application form
6. Enter all the details as directed and upload the essential documents along
7. Preview the application form before submitting
