The admissions against the vacant seats will be done solely based on the student’s performance in the Lateral Entry Selection Test or LEST, which will be conducted on the 7th of February, 2026. The last date to apply for the Navodaya Class 11 Admissions 2026 was 23rd of September. However, this deadline is now extended till the 7th of October 2025.

Who can Apply?

Here are the eligibility conditions that every candidate needs to satisfy to apply for Navodaya Class 11 Admissions 2026:

  • The date of birth of the student should be between the 1st of June 2009 to the 31st of July 2011 (both days inclusive).
  • The student must complete their class 10th in 2026 (2025-26 academic session) from any Government-recognized school.
  • The school must be from the same district/ state, in which they are applying.

Selection Procedure

  • There will be an entrance exam called the Lateral Entry Selection Test or LEST 2026 (XI) for selecting eligible candidates against the vacant seats of Navodaya Class 11 Admissions 2026.
  • The selection test will have 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks.
  • Candidates will get 2 hours and 30 minutes (11:00 AM to 01:30 PM) to appear in the exam.
  • The medium of the test paper will be English/ Hindi.
  • The test will consist of 5 sections, each having 20 questions in each section:
    • Mental Ability
    • English
    • Science
    • Social Science
    • Mathematics
  • The candidate has to score a minimum of 6 marks out of 20 in all subjects.
  • However, the merit list for admission will depend on only three subjects.

Fee Structure

  • The education in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is free, including board & lodging, uniforms, and textbooks.
  • The students from classes VI-VIII need not provide any fees.
  • Each month a sum of Rs 600 is collected from students in Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN).
  • The students belonging to SC/ ST categories, all Girl students, and the students whose family income is below the Poverty Line (BPL) are exempted.
  • In respect of wards of Government employees other than the exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ ST & Girl students, and wards of BPL families), Vikas Nidhi will be charged with Rs. 1500/- per month or actual children’s education allowance received by the parent, whichever is less.
  • The VVN shall not be less than Rs. 600/- per student per month.

  • Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in their 6th Semester B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com/ B.Voc Examinations in 2025 are eligible to apply for Gauhati University PG Admissions 202 and get provisional admission if selected. However, such candidates must submit their Final Marksheet within 7 days of their result declaration; failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of their seat.

The merit list for Gauhati University PG Admissions 2025 will be fully based on the candidates’ performance in the entrance examination, i.e. GUPGET 2025. In this academic session 2025-26, Cotton University will admit around 1000 students to its PG courses. Here is the detailed list of courses available along with the number of seats in each programme:

50% seats for Cotton Graduates

Cotton University reserves 50% of seats in all the PG programmes for the graduates of the university itself. Hence, any graduate from Cotton University, who is passing this year or has passed in 2024 can avail the benefit of the same and get their admissions. The remaining 50% of the seats in each postgraduate programme will be open to graduate students from any recognised universities/ institutions, subject to their eligibility conditions.

However, there are no such reservations for Cotton graduates in the few programmes, and 100% of the seats in the following courses are open to all:

  • First of all, candidates need to visit the official website of Cotton University
  • Click on the highlighted link saying ‘Admissions 2025-26’
  • Once you are redirected to the admission portal, click on the ‘Register’ button given under the headline ‘Online Admission Form Fill-up for PG Courses’
  • Now, enter your Email ID and Mobile number, choose postgraduate in the option given to select courses, and then request an OTP and submit it
  • After registering successfully, candidates have to log into the admission portal and fill up the application form part by part, as instructed in the admission portal

Application Fees

Admission Procedure

(a) For Cotton Graduates

The candidates, who have graduated from Cotton University itself in the years 2024 and 2025 can get their admissions via the following methods:

  • CGPA-Based Admission: In all subjects requiring candidates to have honours in the concerned subject, the Cotton graduate can be admitted based on their CGPA in bachelor’s degree. Such candidates should have a minimum of 5.5 CGPA for admissions (5.3 for OBC/ MOBC and 5.0 for SC/ ST candidates)
  • Entrance-Based Admission: In those subjects for which the eligibility criteria of Honours/ Major in the qualifying UG Degree does not specify the concerned subject only, admissions will be based on CPGEE 2025 scores. Here is the list of such courses:
    • MA in Ancient Indian History, Culture, and Archaeology
    • Master of Computer Applications
    • M.Sc in Environmental Biology & Wildlife Sciences
  • The standard reservation policy set by the government of Assam for OBC/ MOBC/ ST(P)/ ST(H)/ SC/ EWS/ PWD candidates will be followed while admitting Cotton graduates.

(b) For Open Category Seats

  • On the other hand, for the remaining 50% of seats in such courses and 100% of seats in programmes like Master in Library Science, LLM, M.Com, and MA in Bodo; the admission will be based on the candidate’s performance in the Cotton University Postgraduate Entrance Test, also known as CPGEE.
  • The standard reservation policy set by the government of Assam for OBC/ MOBC/ ST(P)/ ST(H)/ SC/ EWS/ PWD candidates will also be applicable for admissions in open category seats.

CPGEE 2025 & Merit List

The entrance examination for Cotton University PG Admissions 2025 will probably be conducted by the last week of June. This will be an OMR-based paper and candidates will need to solve 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in 90 minutes. The candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each of their correct answers and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The question papers for CPGEE 2025 will be based on Cotton University’s syllabus for the corresponding undergraduate course. And for programmes, which are not available in the UG curriculum of the university; question papers will be based on the standard syllabuses of reputed universities under UGC.

Admissions to Class VI in JNVs are conducted through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). These schools aim to provide good quality modern education to talented children predominantly from rural areas. Registration for the JNVST 2026 for admission to Class-VI is now open via an online process.

1. Who can Apply?

Admission to Class VI in a JNV is district specific. A candidate is eligible to apply for JNVST 2026 only in the same district where they are studying Class V. Only bona fide resident candidates from the district concerned, who are also studying Class V in the same district, are eligible.

Key eligibility criteria include:

  • The candidate must be studying in Class V for the whole of the academic session 2025-26 in a Government/ Government aided or other recognized school located in the same district where they are seeking admission.
  • Candidates must have studied and passed Class III, IV & V from a Govt./ Govt. aided/ recognized school, spending one full academic session in each class.
  • Candidates who have passed Class V before the session 2025-26 or are repeated candidates are not allowed.
  • A candidate seeking admission must have been born on or after 01-05-2014 and on or before 31-07-2016 (Both dates are inclusive)9. This age criteria applying under JNVST 2026, applies to candidates of all categories.
  • Candidates studying under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) scheme must have obtained a ‘B’ certificate on or before 15th September 2025 and be a bona fide resident of the same district where they are seeking admission.
  • No candidate is eligible to apply for the selection test for the second time.
  • Rural candidates must have studied in Classes-III, IV and V in Government/ Government Aided/ Government recognized schools located in rural areas, completing a full academic session in each. The candidate should study the full academic session under a rural area in Class-V from the same district where admission is sought.
  • A candidate who has studied in a school located in an urban area for even a single day during Class III, IV, or V will be considered an urban candidate

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test or JNVST 2026 for admission to Class-VI for the academic session 2026-27 will be held in two phases19:

  • Phase 1: On Saturday, 13th December, 2025 at 11.30 A.M. This phase covers the States of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti, Solan and Shimla Districts), Jammu & Kashmir (only for Jammu-I, Jammu-II, Samba & Udhampur), Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), and the Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The JNVST 2026 will have 80 objective-type questions of 100 marks in total. Each candidate will be given 120 minutes, i.e. 2 hours to complete the paper. However, there is a relaxation for Divyang students or differently-abled students, and they will get an additional 40 minutes to complete the paper.

Section 1: Mental Ability Test (MAT)

The first section of the JNVST 2026 will have reasoning-type questions to check the mental ability of the candidate and all of them will be based on some diagrams. It is divided into 10 parts (listed below) and will have 4 questions of each type.

Section 2: Arithmetic Test

The second section of the paper will have 20 mathematical questions to measure the candidate’s basic competencies in Arithmetic, and the questions will be based on the following 15 topics:

  1. Number and Numeric system
  2. Four fundamental operations on the Whole number
  3. Factors and multiples including their properties
  4. Decimals and Fundamental Operations on them
  5. Conversion of fractions to decimals and vice-versa
  6. Measurement of length, mass, capacity, time, money, etc.
  7. Simplification of Numerical Expressions
  8. Fractional numbers – addition and subtraction of like fractions and multiplication (unlike fraction and division of fractional numbers not included)
  9. Profit and loss without calculation of percentage (calculation of the percentage of profit and loss is exempted from the topic)
  10. Perimeter and Area: the perimeter of a polygon, area of a square, rectangle, and triangle (as a part of a rectangle)
  11. Types of Angles and their Simple Applications
  12. Data analysis using bar diagram, graph, and line chart

Section 3: Language Test

The third and last section of the JNVST 2026 is to assess the reading comprehension of the candidates. This section will have 4 passages and 5 questions with each passage, that is 20 questions in total. Candidates will need to read the passages given and find out the answers to the questions given along with them.

Eligibility Criteria

Internal Quota (30% Seats)

  • 30% of the total seats in each department will be reserved for students who have graduated from Madhabdev University with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 in the relevant subject.
  • However, selection will be based on merit in the MDUPGET 2025 entrance examination.

External Quota (Remaining 70% seats)

  • 70% of the total seats will be reserved for candidates from other universities.
