The application portal for the exam is live from 27th November 2025 and interested candidates will have time up to 18th December 2025 to submit their forms.

This examination is an essential eligibility test for candidates aspiring to become teachers for classes I to VIII across various schools in India. The CTET 2026 examination aims to set national standards for teacher quality and improve the recruitment process.

Eligibility

The minimum qualifications for appearing in the CTET 2026 are as notified by NCTE. Hereby, candidates are advised to visit the website of NCTE to ascertain their eligibility.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for Paper I (Classes I to V):

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Or, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, following the NCTE Regulations, 2002.
  • Or, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Or, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Or, Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). A candidate who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from an NCTE-recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V, provided the person appointed shall mandatorily undergo a 6-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher.
  • Or, Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and passing or appearing in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for Paper II (Classes VI to VIII):

  • Graduation and have passed/ are appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Or, at least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and passed or appearing in final year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Or, Graduation with at least 45% marks and passing or appearing in final year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), following the NCTE Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
  • Or, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Or, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
  • Or, Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in final year B.Ed. (Special Education).
  • Or, any candidate having a qualified B.Ed. program recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/ CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/ CTET.
  • Or, Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and passing or appearing in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

Exam Scheme

All questions in CTET 2026 will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate. Each carries one mark and there will be no negative marking.
There will be two papers on CTET.

  • Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II)

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates meeting the following requirements are eligible to apply for CMAT 2026.

The application process for the National Eligibility Test has begun today, i.e. 7th October 2025 and will remain open until 7th November 2025.

NTA is all set to conduct the test in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. In this article, candidates can find all the details about UGC NET December 2025, from Eligibility conditions, steps to apply, application fees, and its Exam Pattern.

Who can apply?

  • To apply for UGC NET December 2025 the candidate must secure at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from UGC-recognized universities/ colleges in Humanities and Social Science (including languages), Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc.
  • Whereas, 50% marks are required for Transgender candidates along with aspirants belonging to the OBC NCL/ SC/ ST/ PWD category.
  • Candidates pursuing a master’s degree or having appeared for the final exam and waiting for their results can also apply. Such candidates will be provisionally admitted and will be eligible for the award of JRF/ eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s degree with the required percentage according to category. Also, note that candidates must complete their master’s degree within 2 years of the declaration of the UGC NET result.
  • Candidates with PhD degrees whose master’s exam was completed by 19th September 1991 will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (Students can check the information brochure for complete details).
  • Candidates are advised to appear for the UGC NET December 2025 exam in the subject they have completed their post-graduation. If the subject is not available, then they can choose a subject similar to it.
  • Candidates who have completed a 4-year/ 8-semester bachelor’s degree program must obtain a minimum aggregate of 75% marks or its equivalent grade on a grading scale, if applicable. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be granted to candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other specified categories, as determined by the Commission periodically. This complies with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022.
  • The candidates qualifying in the NET, based on a four-year undergraduate degree, will be eligible for the award of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and admission to the Ph.D.
  • The candidates qualifying in the NET, based on a four-year undergraduate degree, will not be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor.
  • Candidates having a post-graduate diploma/ certificate awarded by an Indian University/ Institute or a foreign degree/ diploma/ certificate awarded by a foreign University/ institute should in their interest, ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/ degree/ certificate with a Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
  • Age Limit and Relaxation:
    • For JRF, candidates should not be more than 30 years as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. 01/12/2025.
    • A relaxation of 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third gender categories, and to women applicants.
    • Whereas for Assistant Professors and Admission to PhD category, there is no upper age limit in applying for UGC NET December 2025.

Exam Pattern

  1. The Examination shall be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.
  2. The question paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions.
  3. The language of the question paper will be as per the selection made by the candidates from Hindi and English.
  4. There will be a total of 2 papers in the examination.
  5. The time duration of the exam will be 3 hours and it will be without any break.
  6. For each correct answer, 2 marks will be awarded and there will be 300 marks in total.
  7. There will be no negative marking scheme for the UGC NET December 2025 paper.

NTA has released a key notification yesterday, i.e. on 29th of September, regarding the application process and examination dates.

As per notice, the forms for JEE Mains 2026 Session 1 will open in October 2025 on the official website. Aspirants planning to appear for the exam must ensure the updating of relevant documents well before applying. This advisory aims to minimize discrepancies and rejections during the application process for JEE Mains.

Who can apply?

The eligibility criteria for JEE Mains 2026 is not out yet. However, it can be expected to be same as previous years:

  • There is no age limit for the candidates.
  • Candidates who have passed the class XII/ equivalent examination in 2024, 2025 or appearing in 2026 can appear in the examination, irrelevant of their age.
  • Candidates who passed the Class XII / equivalent examination in 2023 or before may not be eligible to appear in the exam.

Educational Qualifications

List of qualifying examinations as eligibility criteria:

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system is conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi etc.
  • An intermediate or two-year pre-university examination is conducted by a recognized board/ university.
  • Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
  • Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
  • A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • Candidates who have completed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII Examination.
  • In case the Class XII Examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier

Other Eligibility Conditions

Candidates seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs based on ranks in JEE Mains 2026 Session 1 must meet one of the following criteria:

  • They must have secured at least 75% marks in the Class XII examination or
  • They should be in the top 20 percentile of their Class XII examination as conducted by their respective boards.
  • For SC/ ST candidates, the minimum qualifying marks in the Class XII examination is 65%.

Document Requirements

  • A recent passport-size photograph
  • Signature (clearly legible)
  • A scanned copy of Class X or Equivalent Certificate/ Marks-sheet should be named as ‘Class-X Certificate’
  • A scanned copy of the PwD/ PwBD certificate should be named as ‘Disability Certificate’
  • Aadhaar Card – It must be updated with the correct name, date of birth as per Class 10th certificate, latest photograph, address, and father’s name.
  • UDID Card for Persons with Disabilities: It should be valid, updated, and renewed as necessary.
  • Category Certificate for EWS/ SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL candidates: It must be valid and updated.

Exam Pattern

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains 2026 Session 1) will be conducted in January 2026. It will be conducted in the following modes:

  • Paper 1 (BE/ B.Tech): Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
  • Paper 2A (B. Arch):
    • Mathematics (Part-I) – CBT mode
    • Aptitude Test (Part-II) – CBT mode
    • Drawing Test (Part-III) – Pen and paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on drawing sheet of A4 size
  • Paper 2B (B.Planning): Mathematics (Part-I), Aptitude Test (Part-II), and Planning-Based Questions (Part-III) in CBT mode.

Exam Pattern of CSIR NET December 2025

The Joint CSIR UGC NET maintains the three-tier qualification system established in recent sessions. Candidates will be categorized into three groups based on their performances:

  • CSIR UGC NET JRF Category: Candidates achieving scores at or above the JRF threshold qualify for Junior Research Fellowship, enabling them to conduct research in their field with stipend benefits.
  • CSIR UGC NET Assistant Professor Category: Candidates meeting NET threshold requirements become eligible for lectureship applications at universities and colleges nationwide.
  • PhD Admission Category: This category has a lower threshold than the previous two, qualifying candidates for PhD admission at various Higher Educational Institutions.

The IIT Guwahati will examine the computer-based test (CBT) mode from the 7th of February to the 15th of February, 2026.

The GATE examination is conducted every year to check the comprehensive understanding of candidates in various undergraduate-level subjects in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, and Humanities. It is being conducted by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs comprising IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee, on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates will be considered eligible to sit for the GATE 2026 if they fulfil any of the mentioned options:

  • The candidate who is currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program, OR has already completed any government-approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts
  • Candidates who have obtained/ are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India: Must be currently in the 3rd or higher years or have completed their Bachelor’s degree (duration: at least 3 years) in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Arts/ Commerce.

Benefits of a GATE score

The GATE score obtained by candidates will remain valid for three years from the date of the results announcement. A valid GATE 2026 score can be used for:

  • Admission with possible financial assistance to Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, and Humanities; and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering, Science, and Humanities, in institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other Government agencies.
  • GATE score is also used by some colleges and institutions for admission to postgraduate programs without MoE scholarships.

Test Papers of GATE 2026

  • The GATE 2026 will have a total of 30 test papers comprising full papers and sectional papers.
  • Candidates have the option to appear for one or two test papers from the allowed two-paper combinations.
  • The questions will be of 3 types, that is
    • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
    • Multiple Select Questions (MSQ)
    • Numerical Answer Type (NAT)
  • Overall, there will be 65 Questions, out of which 10 will be of General Aptitude, and the remaining 55 questions will be subject-specific.
  • Marking scheme:
    • Questions will carry 1 mark and 2 marks.
    • For a 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Similarly, for 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.
    • There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ and NAT questions.
    • There is no partial marking for any question.

The exam was conducted today, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Soon after the completion of the exam, APSC has released the provisional answer keys for both General Studies Paper I and II.

This year, the official notification for the APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 was released on 23rd March 2025, announcing a total of 262 vacancies across 16 services. However, the commission had added another 27 vacancies of Assam Finance Service via an addendum on 29th March, 2025.

According to the published notice, candidates can now submit their applications online, and the examination will be conducted via Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The CSIR NET June 2025 examination will assess the qualification of Indian citizens for three distinct categories: ‘Junior Research Fellowship with Assistant Professor eligibility’, ‘Assistant Professor qualification with PhD admission rights’, and ‘PhD admission eligibility only’ across universities and colleges in India.

Essential Academic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification/ Integrated BS-MS/ 4-year BS/ BE/ B.Tech/ B.Pharma/ MBBS with minimum 55% marks (without rounding) for General/ General-EWS categories and 50% marks (without rounding) for OBC (NCL)/ SC/ ST/ Third gender/ PwD candidates.
  • Students currently pursuing M.Sc. or those who have finished 10+2+3 years of qualifying education by the application deadline are eligible for the Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2025.
  • B.Sc.(Hons) degree holders or students in Integrated MS-PhD programs with a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding) for General/ General-EWS categories; and 50% marks (without rounding) for OBC (NCL)/ SC/ ST/ Third gender/ PwD candidates can also apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree holders are only eligible for the JRF category, not for Lectureship/ Assistant Professor positions.
  • Final year students of B.E./ B.S./ B.Tech/ B.Pharma/ MBBS or awaiting results can apply exclusively for fellowship, not for Lectureship/ Assistant Professor roles.

Exam Pattern of CSIR NET June 2025

The Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2025 maintains the three-tier qualification system established in recent sessions. Candidates will be categorised into three groups based on their performances:

  • CSIR UGC NET JRF Category: Candidates achieving scores at or above the JRF threshold qualify for Junior Research Fellowship, enabling them to conduct research in their field with stipend benefits.
  • CSIR UGC NET Assistant Professor Category: Candidates meeting NET threshold requirements become eligible for lectureship applications at universities and colleges nationwide.
  • PhD Admission Category: This category has a lower threshold than the previous two, qualifying candidates for PhD admission at various Higher Educational Institutions.
