It’s a common and stressful experience.

Well, we definitely don’t want that to happen to you! That’s why we’re going to dive into some quick revision techniques. These are practical, proven methods to help you recall when it matters most and bring confidence for the UPSC EPFO 2025 exam.

Let’s dive in, but first let’s understand the importance of quick revision.

Why is Quick Revision so Important?

Think of quick revision as a final step of your UPSC EPFO preparation. Here’s why quick revision is super important:

Quick Revision Techniques for EPFO Candidates - Bohikitap
  • Puts Things Together: Quick revision helps you connect different topics. It makes everything you learned fit into one clear picture.
  • Helps You Remember Faster: It trains your brain to pull out information quickly, which is crucial for exam day when every second counts.
  • Makes You Feel Confident: Knowing you’ve covered everything, even briefly, reduces anxiety.
  • Identify Knowledge Gaps: Sometimes, a quick revision reveals areas you thought you knew but need more work on.

So, don’t underestimate the power of quick revision. Now that we know why it’s so important, let’s learn how to do it quickly and effectively.

Quick Revision Techniques for EPFO Aspirants

Here are the techniques that can help you quickly revise for the UPSC EPFO 2025 exam:

Quick Revision Techniques for EPFO Candidates - Bohikitap

1. The Power of Flashcards

Flashcards are small cards with a question or term on one side and the answer on the other. Think of them as tiny, portable study buddies. They are compact and effective.

What to put on them:

  • Formulas: For subjects like Maths or Accounting
  • Key Dates: Important dates from History or Labour Laws.
  • Definitions: For terms in Economics or Industrial Relations.
  • Short Forms: Acronyms and what they stand for.

How to use them:

  • Active Recall: Look at the question or term on one side. Try hard to remember the answer. Then, flip the card to check if you got it right.
  • Review Smart: Look at the cards you got wrong more often. For the ones you know well, review them less frequently.
  • Carry Them Everywhere: Have some time to spare during your lunch break? Or riding a bus or train? Pull out your flashcards. They’re perfect for quick revision.
  • Make Your Own: Creating your own flashcards helps you learn and remember the information even better.

2. Mind Maps Are Your Best Friend

Mind Maps are a visual way to organize notes for exams like UPSC EPFO. You start with a main idea in the middle and draw lines (branches) out to related topics. They are fantastic tools for visual learners, allowing you to visualize your notes and connect ideas easily.

How to make them:

  • Start with Central Topic: Put your main topic in the middle of a blank page (like “Indian Economy”).
  • Branch Out: Draw lines from the center for main subtopics (like “Sectors,” “Policies,” “Challenges”).
  • Add Details: On each branch, write down short keywords, draw small pictures, or use quick phrases.
  • Use Color: Use different colors for different branches or ideas. This makes it easier to remember.

Mind maps benefits:

  • They clearly show how different ideas link up.
  • You can fit a lot of information onto just one page.
  • The visual layout helps your brain remember things better.
  • They’re excellent for quick revision.

3. Use the “Teach It” Method

“Teach It” method means that if you can teach any topic to someone, you will definitely know it. This method allows you to put your understanding into words.

How it works:

  • Choose a Topic: Pick any subject you need to revise.
  • Imagine Your Student: Pretend you’re explaining it to someone who knows absolutely nothing about it (maybe a family member, a pet, or even a wall).
  • Explain Aloud: Talk through the topic out loud. You can explain it to a wall, your dog, or even a willing family member.
  • Keep it Simple: Break down tricky ideas into easy-to-understand parts. Use simple examples if you can.

Why it’s effective:

  • When you try to explain, you quickly find out the gaps in your knowledge.
  • It forces you to think clearly and put your ideas in a logical order.
  • Speaking it out loud helps your brain retain the information much better.
  • You’ll automatically focus on the most important parts of the topic, cutting out the fluff.

4. Summary Notes: Concise Everything

Summary notes help you note down the important points as you learn new concepts or understand the basics of any topic. It is all about making big information small. Take large amounts of text and shrink them into short, clear summaries.

How to make own notes

  • Short Notes: After studying a chapter, write down only the most critical points in your own words.
  • Bullet Points: Use bullet points to note down key facts, features, advantages/ disadvantages, etc.

Why it works:

  • It makes you focus on the most important information.
  • It improves your understanding of the core concepts.
  • It creates easy-to-review notes for last minute revision.

Important Note: It’s always better to make your own summary notes. Don’t just download them from a website or borrow them from a friend. Making your own notes helps you learn and remember the information much better!

5. Implement the Pomodoro Technique

This method uses short, focused study times that can really help you learn more and grab a good score in EPFO exams.

How it works:

  • Set a timer for 25 minutes.
  • For these 25 minutes, work only on one task. No distractions.
  • When the timer rings, take a 5-minute break.
  • After you do 4 of these 25-minute study sessions take a longer break of 20-30 minutes.

Benefits:

  • Prevents you from getting too tired or overwhelmed.
  • Trains your brain to concentrate better during those short bursts.
  • Makes Big study sessions seem less daunting.
  • Keeps your mind fresh.

Conclusion

EPFO is a competitive exam, but with smart preparation and effective revision, you can significantly boost your chances of success. These practical, proven revision techniques help you learn more efficiently and recall information better when it counts.

So, start implementing them today and be consistent.

Celebrating World Environment Day: 10 Eco-Friendly habits we all can adopt today https://bohikitap.in/10-eco-friendly-habits-we-all-can-adopt-today Thu, 05 Jun 2025 05:24:03 +0000 https://bohikitap.in/?p=38559 Living sustainably isn’t just a trend—it’s a responsibility. With climate change intensifying, we all have a crucial role in making everyday choices that reflect care for the planet. Being eco-friendly doesn’t mean messing up our lives overnight. It means adopting small, conscious, eco-friendly practices that reduce waste, conserve resources, and create a ripple effect of change. Whether we’re living in our home, commuting somewhere, or we are on a long trip, these eco-friendly habits are simple to adopt and powerful in impact.

World Environment Day, celebrated on the 5th day of June, serves as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to protect our planet. It’s a day to reflect on environmental challenges and, more importantly, to inspire action. For young minds like us, who represent the future, embracing sustainable living isn’t just an admirable trait—it’s a crucial responsibility.

Today, let’s explore 10 simple yet profound eco-friendly habits that anyone can adopt to reduce their environmental footprint and become a part of the global solution.

1. Use Reusable Bags

Plastic bags are ubiquitous, and they’re a major cause of pollution. We can take a cloth or a jute bag with us when we go for shopping. It’s a small adjustment, and it severely reduces the amount of single-use plastics that find their way into landfills and oceans.

2. Use own Water Bottle

Purchasing bottled water may be easy, but it is terrible for the planet. Having a refillable bottle cuts down on plastic waste and is cheaper. And, as a bonus, it keeps our water cold longer, particularly with stainless steel models.

3. Turn off the lights and unplug devices

Leaving a light on in an unoccupied room? Plugging in a phone overnight? These are electricity-wasting habits. We can simply turn off what we don’t need. One of the easiest eco-friendly habits to form and yet most often neglected is energy conservation.

4. Public Transport or Walk

Vehicles produce harmful gases, and they pollute the atmosphere and are a cause of climate change. Whenever possible, we can walk, use bicycles, or a public transport. This eco-friendly habit will not only lower emissions, but it will also keep us in shape and save money on fuel.

5. Say No to Single-Use Plastics

Straws, cutlery, and take-away boxes – they’re often used once and discarded. People have already started carrying a metal straw, wooden cutlery, or a reusable container- and we can do that too. These small action can prevent plastic pollution and safeguard wildlife.

6. Increase Plant-Based Meals

It is not necessary to go completely vegetarian. We can simply try to include more plant-based meals in our weekly diet. Raising livestock contributes significantly to harming the environment. More vegetables and grains are one of the most effective eco-friendly habits for shrinking our carbon footprint.

7. Use Environment Friendly Cleaning Products

Several household cleaning products have harmful chemicals that are detrimental to the planet and our health. We can use biodegradable or natural products instead. Interestingly, household items like Vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice are great for most cleaning jobs.

8. Recycle Right

Recycling is more than dumping items in a container. It is high time that we understand what is recyclable, and how it can be done. Taking the first step, we can start separating home-waste into 2 parts. Then, we can use the biodegradable waste to prepare home-made fertilisers, which can help our little flowering pots grow better. On the other hand, plastic bottles and non-biodegradable items can be sold to hawkers, who further sell them to recycling companies.

9. Save Water Daily

A report says, every person wastes 3-4 litres of water, just because we keep the faucet on, while brushing our teeth. On the other hand, leaky taps is another slow but prominent cause of water wastage in daily. We can simply avoid them by using the water wisely.

Pro Tip: We can save rainwater for plants, as I recently discovered- this water is far healthier for growing plants than our normal tap water. These simple actions save water, which is particularly critical in areas experiencing scarcity.

10. Educate and Inspire Others

Yeah, it would be boring to directly educate others. From the few people who listened, hardly anyone will act. But what we could do is share our story – the journey towards an eco-friendly home. It will atleast encourage a few co-workers, friends, and family members to try out the eco-friendly habits we’re developing.

On the other hand, we can share advice on social media or initiate a small green group in our area. The more people involved, the greater the effect. There is no need to wait for the following year’s World Environment Day to go green. These are easy, simple, eco-friendly habits that we all can start adopting from today and practice every day. Collective action leads to a huge change when a million or more people make small, conscious changes.

As a first step towards inspiring others, you can share this article with 5 of your friends 🤭

In a public notice, the NTA has made it clear that UGC NET 2025 has not been cancelled and that students should not believe in unauthentic sources. UGC NET 2025 Registration Dates Extended: Revised schedules

No cancellation of the exam

Due to the recent escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan along the border areas, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the remaining papers of the CA Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course Examinations, which were scheduled between May 9 and May 14, 2025. This precautionary decision was taken in response to the sensitive security situation in several northern states, particularly Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Leh, which are close to the border. The ICAI has assured candidates that revised dates will be announced soon and advised them to stay updated through the official website.

However, the postponement of the ICAI exams does not imply that other national-level exams will also be delayed or cancelled. Rumors have been circulating on social media claiming that the UGC NET June 2025 exam has been cancelled, but these are entirely false. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has officially clarified that no such decision has been taken, and the exam will be held as per schedule. Candidates are urged to rely only on official sources and avoid spreading or reacting to unverified information.

ICAI CA Exams postponed: Schedules

Operation Sindoor Fallout: Education Sector gets a hit

As the ICAI CA Exams postponed, the state governments have announced the closure of schools and colleges across sensitive regions. The action follows heightened alertness after the April 22 Pahalgam massacre, which claimed several civilian lives and led to India’s military response.

In Punjab, the state government has declared a three-day closure of all government, private, and aided schools across the state. In addition, schools in the border districts have been ordered to remain shut indefinitely due to proximity to the Line of Control (LoC). The Union Territory of Chandigarh has followed suit, enforcing a complete shutdown of schools until further notice.

In Jammu and Kashmir, schools in five districts have been closed for May 9 as a security measure. Educational institutions in Leh have also suspended operations temporarily.

No cancellation of UGC NET exam

Though the ICAI CA Exams postponed, fake news regarding the postponement of the UGC NET examination, scheduled for the last week of June, has been making rounds on social media. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has officially debunked these rumors, affirming that there has been no change in the exam schedule as of now.

With the security situation fluid and exam dates approaching, students are urged to stay updated only through official websites and announcements. Education boards and regulatory bodies are expected to issue further guidance based on evolving conditions.

NEET UG Paper Leak: Massive Crackdown Leads to Cancellation of Admissions for 250+ Students https://bohikitap.in/neet-ug-paper-leak-massive-crackdown-leads-to-can Sun, 04 May 2025 16:03:24 +0000 https://bohikitap.in/?p=37927 NEET UG Paper Leak: The National Medical Commission (NMC), responsible for regulating medical education in India, has cancelled the admissions of at least 14 students who enrolled in MBBS courses for the academic year 2024-25. These students were found to have used leaked question papers or engaged in impersonation during the exam. Additionally, the exam participation of another 215 aspirants has been put on hold while investigations continue. Another 26 students already enrolled in MBBS courses, who were found complicit in helping aspirants through unfair means, have also been suspended.

Background Story of NEET UG Paper Leak & Initial Response

In a decisive move to uphold the integrity of medical admissions, authorities have barred 42 candidates from appearing in the NEET UG exams for three consecutive years—2024, 2025, and 2026—while another nine aspirants face a two-year ban, signaling a stern message against malpractice and misconduct.

The NEET UG 2023 results raised suspicions when 67 students scored a perfect 720, and some even got 719 — a score deemed impossible under the exam’s marking scheme. This led to scrutiny over grace marks given to 1,563 students due to time loss and to others over a disputed question. These marks were later withdrawn, and affected candidates were offered a re-test.

Soon after, allegations of a NEET UG paper leak surfaced. The government, however, stated that the leak was limited to a few centres and ruled out the need for a re-test.

Closing Statement of NEET UG Paper Leak

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on academic fraud, the Commission has vowed to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability in NEET UG admissions—sending a clear and powerful message, as investigations continue, that the authorities are cracking down on unfair practices in one of India’s most competitive entrance exams.
