Selected apprentices under the LICHFL Apprenticeship 2025 program will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,000 during their 12-month training period.

Yeah, it would be boring to directly educate others. From the few people who listened, hardly anyone will act. But what we could do is share our story – the journey towards an eco-friendly home. On the other hand, we can share advice on social media or initiate a small green group in our area. The more people involved, the greater the effect. Darrang College submitted the proposal for autonomy, which was reviewed by the Standing Committee on Autonomous Colleges. Following the Committee’s recommendation, the UGC approved the status under Clause 7.4 of the UGC (Conferment of Autonomous Status Upon Colleges and Measures for Maintenance of Standards in Autonomous Colleges) Regulations, 2023.

As an autonomous college, Darrang College must comply with all provisions laid out in the UGC Regulations for Autonomous Colleges, 2023. The institution is expected to maintain the academic and administrative standards as per the guidelines. Failure to adhere to the regulations may lead to action under Clause 13 of the same regulations.

For Grade IV aspirants who have already cleared written exams, oral/viva voce tests have been scheduled from June 15 and would be completed in approximately one month. The Chief Minister emphasised that a phased and systematic process will be followed, making all efforts to streamline the recruitment and avoid further delay.

Earlier, on the 7th of March 2025, the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) had officially announced the results of the written exam for Grade III and Grade IV vacancies. At the same time, while making the results public, SLRC had also published the category-wise ADRE Cut-Off 2025 for each post, offering transparency and clarity for all concerned applicants.

A total of 12,600 vacancies have been declared in the current edition of ADRE at both Grade III and Grade IV levels. And the recruitment drive held independently for each category drew a record number of applications, with an estimated number of 30 lakh aspirants.

Also, CM Sarma assured that recruitment tests for other Grade III vacancies, including drivers, stenographers, and electricians in various departments like Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) have already been held. These vacancies needed specialised skills and were tested so based on their requirements separately.

• Students from schools and colleges affiliated with the Assam Board can participate.
• Each team must consist of two students from the same institution.
• Students from Classes 9 to 12 can register for the All Assam Young Achievers Quiz 2025.
• Travel and accommodation allowances will be provided to selected participants. The exact amount will be communicated later.
• No additional reimbursements will be given to accompanying parents, teachers, or guardians.

Due to the recent escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan along the border areas, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the remaining papers of the CA Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course Examinations, which were scheduled between May 9 and May 14, 2025. This precautionary decision was taken in response to the sensitive security situation in several northern states, particularly Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Leh, which are close to the border. As the ICAI CA Exams postponed, the state governments have announced the closure of schools and colleges across sensitive regions. The action follows heightened alertness after the April 22 Pahalgam massacre, which claimed several civilian lives and led to India’s military response.

In Punjab, the state government has declared a three-day closure of all government, private, and aided schools across the state. In addition, schools in the border districts have been ordered to remain shut indefinitely due to proximity to the Line of Control (LoC). The Union Territory of Chandigarh has followed suit, enforcing a complete shutdown of schools until further notice.

In Jammu and Kashmir, schools in five districts have been closed for May 9 as a security measure. Educational institutions in Leh have also suspended operations temporarily.

In a decisive move to uphold the integrity of medical admissions, authorities have barred 42 candidates from appearing in the NEET UG exams for three consecutive years—2024, 2025, and 2026—while another nine aspirants face a two-year ban, signaling a stern message against malpractice and misconduct.

The NEET UG 2023 results raised suspicions when 67 students scored a perfect 720, and some even got 719 — a score deemed impossible under the exam’s marking scheme. This led to scrutiny over grace marks given to 1,563 students due to time loss and to others over a disputed question. These marks were later withdrawn, and affected candidates were offered a re-test.

Soon after, allegations of a NEET UG paper leak surfaced. The government, however, stated that the leak was limited to a few centres and ruled out the need for a re-test.
