SSC GD Recruitment 2026: A recruitment scheme has been formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for the Staff Selection Commission to conduct an open competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty). The SSC GD Recruitment 2026 drive is held for 24382 male and 2877 female vacant posts in the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles (AR).

Salary
The candidates selected for the SSC GD Recruitment 2026 will receive following facilities along with salary:
- Pay Level: Level-3
- Basic Pay Scale: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100
- Starting Basic Pay: ₹21,700
- Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), Medical Facilities, Pension, etc
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
Candidates applying under SSC GD Recruitment 2026 must be between 18 and 23 years old as of January 1, 2026, for unreserved categories.. The candidates should not have been born earlier than the 2nd of January, 2003, and not later than the 1st of January, 2008, to be eligible for the SSC GD Recruitment 2026.
Nationality
The candidate applying for SSC GD Recruitment 2026 must be a citizen of India. Vacancies in CAPFs and AR are State/ UT/ area wise hence a candidate must submit domicile/ PRC against his or her state/ UT.

Selection Procedure
The SSC GD Recruitment 2026 process will consist of the following stages:
- Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Medical Examination
- Document Verification
Computer Based Examination (CBE)
The Computer based examination will consist of one objective type paper of duration 60 minutes, containing 80 questions carrying 2 marks each, with the following composition:

Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Candidates must meet minimum height and chest measurement requirements specified in the official notification to qualify for the next stage.
- Male candidates generally require a height of 170 cm (157 cm for females), with relaxations provided for specific categories and regions.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Candidates must complete a running task within a prescribed time limit to pass this test.
- Male candidates are typically required to run 5 km in 24 minutes, while female candidates run 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes.
Medical Examination
- A qualified medical board will conduct a thorough examination to ensure the candidate is physically and medically fit for duty in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
- This stage checks vision, hearing, physical deformities, and overall health standards as defined by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Document Verification
- Candidates must present all original educational, caste, domicile, and identity documents for verification against the details provided during their application.
- Any discrepancies or failure to produce valid documentation will lead to disqualification from the recruitment process.
