APSC Prelims Syllabus
The APSC Prelims syllabus has been revised and updated. Here is a detailed breakdown of the syllabus:
- General Studies Paper I:
- Current events of national and international importance
- History of India and Indian National Movement
- Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World
- Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights issues etc
- Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc
- General issues on Environment ecology, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization
- General Science
Note: 30-35% questions in General Studies Paper I will be related to Assam

APSC Prelims Exam Pattern
APSC Prelims exam consists of two papers: General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II. The exam pattern is as follows:
- General Studies Paper I:
- This paper consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 200 marks.
- The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
- For each question for which wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty i.e., 0.50 marks (one-fourth of 2 marks equals to 0.50)
- General Studies Paper II:
- This paper consists of 80 MCQs carrying 200 marks.
- The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
- For each question for which wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty i.e., 0.625 marks (one-fourth of 2.5 marks equals to 0.625)
