Gunotsav 2023 results: Assam government today announced the results of Gunotsav 2023 which was conducted in three phases across Assam from 18th January to 18th February 2023. Gunotsav, a quality enhancement program for schools in Assam was launched by the Government of Assam in November 2009, with Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal serving as the Minister of Education at that time.

Under the guidance of the state government, the Samagra Shiksha (SSA) in Assam administers the Assam Gunotsav program for students in primary and secondary education. Gunotsav has been successful in improving the quality of education in Assam, with a significant improvement in student learning outcomes and school infrastructure over the years. The program has also been recognized as a model for quality enhancement in education and has been replicated in other states of India.

What is Gunotsav?

Gunotsav is a state government initiative that primarily aims to assess the learning outcomes of children to identify gaps in their learning and develop remedial measures to improve their education. Gunotsav is a quality enhancement program for schools in Assam, India, aimed at improving the quality of education at the elementary level. The main objective of Gunotsav is to assess and grade the performance of schools, teachers, and students based on a set of predetermined criteria.

The program is conducted in two phases, with the first phase being a baseline assessment and the second phase being a follow-up assessment. The assessment covers various aspects of education such as classroom teaching, student learning outcomes, student attendance, infrastructure, and teacher training. The grading of schools and teachers is done on a scale of A+ to D, with the aim of motivating them to improve their performance and strive for excellence.

Gunotsav 2023 was scheduled to take place in the months of January and February 2023 in three phases. The program included self-evaluation followed by external evaluation, covering scholastic, co-scholastic, and community participation for students in Class I to IX. Based on the students’ performance, assessments were made, and schools were evaluated based on 90% scholastic, and 5% on co-scholastics and community participation each.

Gunotsav Results 2023

Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled the Gunotsav Results 2023 on the 25th of April 2023. A total of 4,13,516 students from 41,507 schools (schools with more than 15 enrolments) participated across Assam in Gunotsav 2023.
