Bank of Baroda has released this notification, bearing reference number BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2026/16, to fill up 2,482 vacancies of Local Bank Officer (LBO) in the JMG/Scale-I grade across various states of India. Bank of Baroda is one of India’s largest public sector banks, offering a wide range of banking and financial services across the country. The Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026 drive aims to fill a total of 2,482 vacancies for the post of Local Bank Officer in the JMG/Scale-I grade. Candidates can apply for one state only, and vacancies are distributed state-wise as per the local language requirement of each state.

A candidate can apply for one state only, and candidature will be considered only against the vacancies in the state applied for. The merit list will be drawn state-wise and category-wise. Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD candidates, along with unfilled vacancies from previous LBO recruitment exercises, has been provided as per government norms; candidates are advised to check the detailed category-wise breakup in the official notification.
Pay Scale For Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026
Selected candidates for the Local Bank Officer post will be placed in the JMG/Scale-I grade with the following pay scale.

One advance increment shall be granted to selected candidates having work experience of one year or more as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank. Salary and other emoluments will be governed by the industry-level bipartite settlement and Joint Note applicable to officers in the banking sector, along with other allowances as per Bank policy.
Eligibility Criteria For Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026
Age Limit
Candidates applying for the Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026 must be between 21 and 30 years of age as on 1st August 2026. Educational Qualification
Candidates applying under Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026 must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University/ Institution. Preferred certifications such as IC 38 from the Insurance Institute of India, NISM Series V A, NISM Series XXI-A, and NISM Series XIII are an added advantage, though not mandatory.
Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India, as on 1st August 2026. Experience in clerical cadre will not be considered for determining eligibility, and post-qualification experience of less than six months in any organisation will also not be counted, except when it forms part of the candidate’s current employment.
Language Proficiency
Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding the local language of the state for which they are applying. Candidates who have studied and passed the local language as a subject in Class 10th or Class 12th are exempted from appearing in the Local Language Proficiency Test; others will need to qualify this test after the online examination to remain eligible for the interview.
Nationality
A candidate applying under Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026 must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, as on 1st August 2026.
Selection Process
- Selection for the Local Bank Officer post under Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026 will be based on an online test followed by a Group Discussion and/ or Personal Interview of candidates who qualify in the online test.
- A Psychometric Test may also be conducted to assess the candidate’s personality, communication, and problem-solving ability.
- The minimum qualifying marks for GD/ PI would be 60% for General category and 55% for Reserved category candidates.
Bank of Baroda LBO Online Exam Pattern 2026
The online examination will consist of 120 questions worth 120 marks, to be completed in 120 minutes. Except for the English Language section, all sections will be available bilingually in English and Hindi.

The English Language section is qualifying in nature, and marks scored in it will not count towards the final merit list. There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in all sections.
