Coal India Limited Recruitment 2026: The Coal India Limited (CIL), a leading Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, has released a recruitment notification for the post of Management Trainee. A total of 660 vacancies are available across various disciplines. The application portal is open from 12th May 2026, and initially form fill up were open till 11th June, but now it is extended till 21st June 2026.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates under Coal India Limited Recruitment 2026 as Management Trainees in E-1 Grade in the pay scale of ₹60,000 – 1,80,000/- at the initial Basic of ₹60,000/- per month during the training period.
On successful and satisfactory completion of 1-year training cum probation, service will be confirmed in E-1 Grade as Officer (Discipline).
In addition to Basic Pay, candidates will receive Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, perquisites, and allowances under the cafeteria approach, as well as Performance Related Pay (PRP) and other applicable benefits.

Age Limit

The Upper Age Limit for Coal India Limited Recruitment 2026 is 30 Years as of 30th April 2026 for General (UR) & EWS category candidates.
Category-wise relaxation in the Upper Age Limit is mentioned below-
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 Years
- SC/ ST – 5 Years
- For Persons with Disabilities
  - General (UR) -10 Years
  - OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 13 Years
  - SC / ST – 15 Years
- Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) category candidates is as per Govt. of India guidelines.

Education Qualification

Civil: Degree in the relevant branch of Engg. with a minimum of 60% marks
Electrical: Degree in the relevant branch of Engg. with a minimum of 60% marks
Mechanical: Degree in the relevant branch of Engg. with a minimum of 60% marks
System: Recognized 1st Class Degree in BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science / Computer Engineering/ I.T or any 1st Class Degree with MCA
Electronics & Communication: BE/ B.tech/ B.Sc (Engg) in relevant branch of Engineering with minimum 60% marks.
Geology: M.Sc. / M.Tech. in Geology or Applied Geology or Geophysics or Applied Geophysics with minimum 60% marks
Industrial: Engineering Degree in the relevant branch of Engg. with a minimum of 60% marks
Rajbhasha (Hindi): MA in Hindi with minimum 60% marks, and Graduation with Hindi and English as main subjects with 50% marks
Company Secretary:
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/ Institute having acquired Company Secretary qualification with Associate/ Fellow membership of ICSI.
- Preference would be given to those candidates who have worked in a listed Company

Selection Process

The applicants for Coal India Limited Recruitment 2026 will be selected based on the scores obtained the the computer-based test. The details of the selection test is as follows:

Duration: The test will be conducted in a single sitting for 3 hours.
Structure: The test consists of two papers:
- Paper-I: General Knowledge/ Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and General English
- Paper-II: Professional Knowledge (Discipline-specific)
Each paper will have 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and there will be 100 marks for each paper.
Every correct answer will be awarded with 1 mark.
No negative markings for incorrect answers.
No marks will be awarded for unattempted questions.
The question paper will be bilingual, and available in English and Hindi. In case of any discrepancies in the Hindi version, the English version will be considered final.

Application Fees

Candidates belonging to the General/ OBC (Creamy Layer & Non-Creamy Layer)/ EWS category are required to pay a non-refundable fee of ₹1180.
however, candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PwBD categories or Employees of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries are exempted from payment of the application fees.
