ICAR AIEEA 2025: Registration open for PG programmes; Read all the details & Apply!

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notification and announced that the registration process for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, which organizes an entrance examination known as the All India Entrance Examination for Admission or ICAR AIEEA 2025, has begun on the 6th of May, 2025. Also, NTA has confirmed that the entrance test for admission into PG programmes entrance exam will be conducted on 7th July, 2025, for the session 2025-2026.

Overview of ICAR AIEEA 2025 PG Programmes

• The 30% of seats in Master’s degree programmes at Agricultural Universities (AUs) are filled through ICAR AIEEA (PG).
• All seats (100%) in the four esteemed ICAR Deemed-to-be Universities (DUs) – Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), and Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) – are filled through the ICAR AIEEA 2025 exam.
• Similarly, 100% of the seats in Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs) such as Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University (RLBCAU), Jhansi, and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU), Pusa, are also filled based on the AIEEA (PG) exam results.
• To ensure fair representation, a maximum of 40% of the admitted candidates in a specific subject and category within any agricultural university can be from a single state.
• The ICAR AIEEA (PG)-2025 exam for the academic year 2025–26 will be conducted in 89 cities across India (as detailed in Annexure-I), facilitating broad access for aspiring students.
• The AR-PG Scholarship is awarded to meritorious candidates who enroll in Master’s degree programs (which include both coursework and research) at Agricultural Universities.
• Candidates who are already enrolled in a Master’s program are also eligible to apply for the AIEEA (PG) exam, provided they have not completed one year of the program as of the exam date.
• Successful AR-PG Scholarship recipients will receive a monthly stipend of ₹ 12,640.
• In addition to the stipend, a contingent grant of ₹ 6,000 per year is provided to support research-related expenses, including chemicals, equipment, books, and travel.
• A maximum of 50% of the annual contingency grant can be utilized for the purchase of books.

Age Limit

• Only Indian Nationals who are 19 years or older as of 31st August 2025 are eligible to appear for the examination.
• No exceptions or relaxation will be granted on the minimum age limit under any circumstances.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have completed a 4/ 5/ 5.5/ 6-year Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.Sc./ Ag./ B.Tech./ B.V.Sc. & AH) after 10+2 or 10+6 education pattern.
• Candidates must have a Minimum OGPA for General/ OBC/ UPS/ EWS:

  • 5.88/ 9.00
  • 5.22/ 8.00
  • 4.57/ 7.00
  • 3.92/ 6.00
  • 3.25/ 5.00
  • 2.60/ 4.00
• Candidates must have a Minimum OGPA for Minimum OGPA (SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Third Gender):
  • 5.60/ 10.00
  • 4.98/ 9.00
  • 4.42/ 8.00
  • 3.87/ 7.00
  • 3.32/ 6.00
  • 2.75/ 5.00
  • 2.20/ 4.00
• In other cases, where grade points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General/ OBC and EWS categories, whereas for SC/ ST/ Third Gender/ PwBD categories, the requirement is 50% marks.
• Candidates must have passed the ICAR AIEEA 2025 exam to secure admission to PG programmes.

Exam Pattern

• The mode of the ICAR AIEEA 2025 exam will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ).
• The duration of the exam is 120 minutes.
• The total number of questions is 120.
• There will be 4 marks for each correct answer, and one mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
• The paper will be available in English medium only.

• Enter your details, address information, password, and then submit
• Once done, you will receive an application number, which you can use with the password set in the earlier step to log in and continue filling out the application form
• Now, you will need to fill in academic details, exam medium, and exam centre preference
• Then upload all the specific documents and images as asked, and pay the application fees
• You will receive the registration number on submitting the online application form, which you need to keep with you for future references, and take a printout copy of the form
