Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) is set to conduct the Joint Lateral Entry Examination (JLEE) 2025 for admission to the 3rd Semester of the B.Tech. programme for the academic session 2025-26. This examination is specifically for admission into the Engineering Colleges of Assam. Interested candidates can find detailed information regarding the eligibility criteria, application process, exam pattern, and important dates.
ASTU has not notified the number of seats available for admission via JLEE 2025. They have advised the candidates to collect the details such as the total no. of seats available in the institutions or the eligibility and reservation criteria, etc. from the Director of Technical Education, Govt. of Assam, if required.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission through JLEE 2025, candidates must fulfil several conditions:
- The candidate must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent resident of Assam, possessing a valid PRC issued by the competent authority. Candidates without a PRC on the reporting day will have 30 days to submit it.
- Candidates must hold a Diploma of minimum 3 years duration from any Polytechnic Institution of Assam affiliated under specific bodies like the State Council of Technical Education (SCTE), Assam, CIPET Guwahati, Assam Energy Institute Sivasagar, or CIT Kokrajhar.
- A minimum of 45% marks in the Polytechnic Course is required for candidates belonging to the unreserved category.
- While reserved category candidates (OBC/ MOBC NCL/ SC/ ST (P)/ST (H)) need a minimum of 40% marks. For candidates who passed from SCTE, Assam, a minimum CGPA of 4.94 for the unreserved category and 4.39 for the reserved category is required.
- Candidates appearing in their final semester examination are eligible to apply, but must produce their Original Grade Report/ Mark Sheet of the Diploma Programme on the day of Admission.
How to Apply for JLEE 2025?
- Visit the Application portal by clicking on the link given below
- Click on the “Application Form” link and read the instructions shown
- Proceed to the next step, and choose JLEE 2025
- Fill up the registration form and get registered in the portal
- Once completed, login and fill up the remaining details (if any)
- Next, pay the application fees and check the payment status, and it may take two or more working days to get reflected
- Lastly, download the application form for future reference
Application Fees
- An application fee of Rs. 2000 is required.
- The payment must be made online using SBI Collect, which facilitates payment through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.
- The examination fee, once paid, is not refundable.
- Candidature will not be considered if the fee payment is not successful by the last date of submission.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
- The selection is based on securing a valid rank in the JLEE 2025 Entrance Examination.
- The examination will be conducted as a Single Paper on 22nd June, 2025 (Sunday) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a total duration of three hours.
- The paper contains 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs).
- Each correct answer will be awarded four (4) marks, and one (1) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- The medium of the Entrance Test is English.
- Candidates will use an OMR Answer Sheet to indicate answers.
The distribution of questions in JLEE 2025 will be as follows:
- Mathematics: 30 Questions
- Basic Computer Science: 10 Questions
- Engineering Graphics: 10 Questions
- Branch of Engineering: 50 Questions
