Educational Qualification and Experience
Professor of Practice
- Essential: Retired Senior Engineer (Chief Engineer/ Additional Chief Engineer/ Superintending Engineer or equivalent at the time of retirement) who served in the State Governments of Assam/ Meghalaya/ Mizoram/ Tripura.
- Desirable: Experience of working in the state for irrigation development/ water resource management.
Project Assistant
- Essential: B.Tech/ BE in Agricultural/ Civil Engineering with in-depth knowledge of field surveying, measurement of physical and hydrological characteristics of water bodies, GPS-based location mapping and data recording.
- Desirable: M.E./ M.Tech in Water Resources Management/ Hydrology/ Water Resources Engineering/ Soil & Water Conservation Engineering/ Irrigation Engineering/ Geo informatics/ Earth Sciences.
- Desirable: Minimum 6 months of working experience in field survey and hydrological data collection.
- Desirable: Technical skills in Remote Sensing & GIS investigation, Water Resources Management, and Hydrological and Hydrodynamic modelling.
Young Professional (Project)
- Essential: M.E./ M.Tech in Water Resources Management/ Hydrology/ Water Resources Engineering/ Soil & Water Conservation Engineering/ Irrigation Engineering/ Geo informatics/ Earth Sciences, and equivalent with B.Tech/ BE in Agricultural/ Civil Engineering.
- Essential: Minimum 6 months of working experience in project handling, with technical skills in Remote Sensing & GIS investigation, Water Resources Management, and Hydrological and Hydrodynamic modelling.
- Desirable: GATE qualification.
- Desirable: Experience in Python, R, Java, climate data analysis, statistical data analysis, visualisation, report preparation and scientific publication.
- Desirable: Experience in field survey and hydrological data collection.
Selection Process
- For the Professor of Practice post, under NERIWALM Recruitment 2026 applications will be considered by a Selection Committee constituted by NERIWALM. Based on its recommendations, the Competent Authority of NERIWALM will decide the engagement.
- Candidates may be called for an interaction in physical or online mode, as decided by the Director, NERIWALM.
- For Project Assistant and Young Professional, candidates will be selected through a walk-in interview at NERIWALM, Tezpur. Original certificates must be produced in support of the eligibility criteria during the interview and at the time of joining.
- After selection, an offer letter will be issued indicating the terms and conditions of engagement. The selected candidates will have to submit an undertaking accepting these terms.
- No TA/DA will be provided to candidates for attending the interview or interaction.
