Residence
Candidate must be a permanent resident of the State of Assam.
Educational Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are as per NCTE norms:
Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), or
- Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII)
- Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
- At least 50% marks in Graduation and B.Ed., or
- At least 55% marks in Post Graduation and 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed., or
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B.Sc. Ed. or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., or
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
Note: Minimum percentage in graduation is not applicable for candidates admitted to education courses prior to 29th July 2011.
Relaxation
Relaxation up to 5% in academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD candidates. For PWD candidates, a minimum handicap of 40% certified by the competent authority is required.
Selection Process
The candidates applying under Special Assam TET 2026 Recruitment must follow the given selection process:

General candidates applying under Special Assam TET 2026 Recruitment require 60% (90 out of 150 marks) overall and 60% (18 out of 30 marks) in Language-1 section. SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD candidates get 5% relaxation overall (55%) and 10% in Language-1 (50%).
