The application process for the National Eligibility Test has begun today, i.e. 7th October 2025 and will remain open until 7th November 2025.

NTA is all set to conduct the test in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. In this article, candidates can find all the details about UGC NET December 2025, from Eligibility conditions, steps to apply, application fees, and its Exam Pattern.

Who can apply?

  • To apply for UGC NET December 2025 the candidate must secure at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from UGC-recognized universities/ colleges in Humanities and Social Science (including languages), Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc.
  • Whereas, 50% marks are required for Transgender candidates along with aspirants belonging to the OBC NCL/ SC/ ST/ PWD category.
  • Candidates pursuing a master’s degree or having appeared for the final exam and waiting for their results can also apply. Such candidates will be provisionally admitted and will be eligible for the award of JRF/ eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s degree with the required percentage according to category. Also, note that candidates must complete their master’s degree within 2 years of the declaration of the UGC NET result.
  • Candidates with PhD degrees whose master’s exam was completed by 19th September 1991 will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (Students can check the information brochure for complete details).
  • Candidates are advised to appear for the UGC NET December 2025 exam in the subject they have completed their post-graduation. If the subject is not available, then they can choose a subject similar to it.
  • Candidates who have completed a 4-year/ 8-semester bachelor’s degree program must obtain a minimum aggregate of 75% marks or its equivalent grade on a grading scale, if applicable. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be granted to candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other specified categories, as determined by the Commission periodically. This complies with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022.
  • The candidates qualifying in the NET, based on a four-year undergraduate degree, will be eligible for the award of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and admission to the Ph.D.
  • The candidates qualifying in the NET, based on a four-year undergraduate degree, will not be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor.
  • Candidates having a post-graduate diploma/ certificate awarded by an Indian University/ Institute or a foreign degree/ diploma/ certificate awarded by a foreign University/ institute should in their interest, ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/ degree/ certificate with a Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
  • Age Limit and Relaxation:
    • For JRF, candidates should not be more than 30 years as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. 01/12/2025.
    • A relaxation of 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third gender categories, and to women applicants.
    • Whereas for Assistant Professors and Admission to PhD category, there is no upper age limit in applying for UGC NET December 2025.

Exam Pattern

  1. The Examination shall be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.
  2. The question paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions.
  3. The language of the question paper will be as per the selection made by the candidates from Hindi and English.
  4. There will be a total of 2 papers in the examination.
  5. The time duration of the exam will be 3 hours and it will be without any break.
  6. For each correct answer, 2 marks will be awarded and there will be 300 marks in total.
  7. There will be no negative marking scheme for the UGC NET December 2025 paper.

Overview of programmes under ICAR AICE PhD 2025

  • The admissions under ICAR AICE PhD 2025 will be conducted in 72 subjects across 89 cities nationwide.
  • It offers admission to Doctoral programmes in Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, Fisheries, Dairy Science, and allied fields.
  • 30% of seats (and 100% at Dr. RPCAU, RLBCAU, ICAR-IVRI, IARI, CIFE, NDRI) are filled under the ICAR-AU system.
  • A maximum of 40% candidates from any one state can be admitted per subject and category.
  • Fellows cannot hold any other scholarship during the ICAR fellowship tenure. Any existing scholarship must be surrendered.
  • Fellowship amount is Rs. 37,000/ month (1st & 2nd year) and Rs. 42,000/ month (3rd year).
  • A contingent grant of Rs. 10,000/ year is provided for research needs.
  • Only 50% of the grant can be used for buying books.
  • In-service candidates must join a university other than their workplace to receive admission and fellowship.
  • In-service fellows drawing leave salary will receive Rs. 3,000/ month from ICAR plus the regular contingent grant.

Benefits of BARC Fellowship 2025

  • Students joining the JRF programme will receive a pay of Rs. 37,000/- per month initially for a period of two years.
  • On satisfactory performance, the tenure of Fellowship will be further extended and upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from the third year onwards with a stipend of ₹42,000/- per month.
  • Students will also be receiving a contingency grant of ₹60,000/- per year, including book allowance.
  • They can also avail medical benefits under the Contributory Health Services Scheme of this Centre for self, on payment of the prescribed contribution.
  • PhD students must stay in the provided hostel, which they will get at a subsidised rate and will be liable to pay mess charges during the program.
  • At certain stations, where hostel accommodation is not provided, the candidates will be entitled to HRA as per prevailing Government guidelines (Presently HRA is @ 30% of the Fellowship for cities like Mumbai).

  • Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate in B.Sc. and 55% aggregate in M.Sc. from a recognised University.
  • Candidates with 05 years integrated M.Sc. / B.S-M.S. (Single degree) should have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate.

ATREE Masters Fellowship 2025: An Overview

The ATREE Masters Fellowship 2025 is part of the Action for Mountains and Peoples in the Himalaya (AMP-HIMALAYA) at ATREE that aims to prioritize key areas to achieve the goal of assessment, monitoring, and conservation of Biodiversity; restoration of multi-functional landscapes; nature-based rural livelihoods and climate change resilience.

The project is being implemented in 3 distinct landscapes located in 3 states and 1 union territory of the IHR. The regions are the Khangchendzonga Landscape covering the Darjeeling hills of north Bengal and Sikkim state; the Trans-Himalayan Landscape representing a high dependence on rangelands with agro-pastoral and pastoral systems in Ladakh; and Arunachal Pradesh with the largest, greenest, ethnically diverse and most biodiversity rich landscapes.

Eligibility Criteria for BET 2025

Educational Qualification

  • The candidate pursuing under graduation with discipline B.E./ B.Tech./ M.B.B.S or Post Graduation with M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.VSc./M. Pharm./ Integrated M.Sc./ M.Tech. in any discipline of Biotechnology or Life Sciences, such as Biomedical, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Botany, Chemistry, Computational Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Zoology or any other allied area of Biology/ Life Sciences can apply for BET 2025.
  • The candidate has passed any M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.VSc./ M.Sc. (Agri) programs supported under the DBT Post Graduate Teaching Programme shall be eligible to apply. Candidates who are yet to appear in the final semester examination or are awaiting the result of the final semester shall also be eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks for General/ EWS/ OBC and 55% for SC/ ST/ Differently Abled candidates.
  • Candidates in the final year of their qualifying degree can apply for BET. This is under the “result awaited” (RA) category. Candidates must submit an Undertaking/Attestation Form. The Head of the Institute must certify and stamp the form. The Institute’s address and name must be on the form. Candidates get the form from APPENDIX-III. Failure to submit the form will result in application rejection.

Age Limit

  • The candidate must be at least 28 years of age as of 28/03/2025 for General/ EWS.
  • Age Relaxation-
    • SC/ ST/ Differently Abled/ Female: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years

Nationality

The candidate must be a bona fide citizen and resident of India.

Exam Pattern for BET 2025

  • The exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
  • The exam consists of sections—Section A and Section B—and is worth 300 marks.
  • There will be 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), and candidates must attempt 100.
  • The total exam duration is three hours, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, during which candidates must answer Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).

  1. Aptitude

The Part A aptitude section tests the candidate’s comprehension, reasoning, and quantitative abilities. Questions may include:

  • Comprehension-based questions: A paragraph is provided, followed by questions based on it.
  • Non-verbal reasoning: Identifying patterns or the odd ones out in abstract pictures.
  • Quantitative ability: Questions involving large numbers and simple calculations.

2. General Biotechnology

This section covers fundamental topics in biotechnology, including:

The fellowship program is 13 months long and it will provide an opportunity for the youths to connect with the rural communities, understand their difficulties and help them with their aspirations.

Structure of the SBI Youth For India Fellowship 2025-26

The Fellowship program focuses on 12 broad sections covering all aspects of rural development-

The SBI Youth for India Fellowship 2025-26 is structured in such a way that the tenure of the fellowship is broadly divided into three phases: Familiarization, Implementation, and Sustenance.

Phase 1: Familiarisation

  • Weeklong orientation and interaction with the NGO
  • Understanding the scope of work and assigning location, domain, and local mentor
  • Finalization of project objective, the structure of project implementation

Phase 2: Implementation

  • Working on Project implementation for a duration of around 9 months
  • The fellows work on finding the solutions to the challenges the community faces
  • Workshops are held along with guidance from experts and alumni to overcome any hurdles to the fellows

Phase 3: Sustenance

  • In the last few months of the fellowship, it is expected that the task taken is completed
  • The fellow has to identify a person from the local community or NGO who could take over the project after the fellow leaves the location

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must have completed a Bachelor’s degree before 1 October 2025.
  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen, a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
  • The candidate must be between 21 and 32 years of age on the day of commencement of the program, i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than 5th August 1993 and not later than 6th October 2004.

Benefits of the SBI Youth For India Fellowship 2025-26

  • Selected candidates for SBI Youth For India Fellowship 2025-26 will receive a monthly allowance of Rs. 16,000 for the duration of the program to meet their living expenses.
  • A monthly allowance of Rs. 2000 will be provided for the duration of the program to meet transport expenses.
  • A monthly allowance of 1000 INR will be given for the duration of the programme to meet your project-related expenses.
  • Candidates will also receive a readjustment allowance of Rs. 90,000 upon successful & satisfactory completion of the fellowship.
  • The cost of the 3AC train fare from your residence to the project site location as well as expenses incurred on traveling for training programs shall be covered.
  • A health and personal accident insurance policy will also be provided.

  • Candidates will be assisted by the local NGO staff to find suitable accommodation with safety in mind.
  • The partner NGO will also arrange for necessary support as and when required.
  • An SBI Youth for India team member will be available for overall support & guidance.

  • Linkages with premier organizations of the country.

The projects will be located in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Telangana and Jharkhand.

How to apply for SBI Youth for India Fellowship 2025-26?

This fellowship program has two stages of the application process –

STAGE-1 (Registration & Online Assessment)

  • Candidates need to fill out a Registration from by visiting the application portal linked below.
  • Then they will need to appear in an Online Assessment test.
  • During the assessment, candidates will be asked to provide a detailed easy-based response in which they can share their story, perspectives, intention to join the Fellowship, and overall worldview.

STAGE-2 (Personal Interview)

The second stage of selection for SBI Youth for India Fellowship 2025-26 will be a Personal Interview, where the esteemed panel will judge the applicant’s personal characteristics and suitability for the role. This stage is designed to help the selection panel make informed decisions based on factors beyond academic qualifications and work experience and gain a deeper understanding of the person.
