AIIMS NORCET 2026: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is conducting the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) 2026 for recruitment of Nursing Officer posts across various AIIMS institutes. Salary/ Benefits
Nursing Officer posts selected through AIIMS NORCET 2026 are offered at Level 07 in the pay matrix with a pre-revised pay band of Rs. 9300-34800 and grade pay of Rs. 4600. The posts carry usual allowances admissible to Central Government servants stationed at the respective AIIMS institutes/ hospitals.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of the candidates applying under AIIMS NORCET 2026 is given as follows:
Educational Qualification
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council or state Nursing Council recognized institute/ university
- OR Post Basic B.Sc Nursing / B.Sc (Post-Certificate) Nursing from recognized institute/university
- Registered Nurse & Midwife with State or Indian Nursing Council
- OR Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) recognized by Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council
Experience
- Two years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the essential qualification is mandatory for diploma holders
- Experience should be after the completion of educational qualification, internship/ residency period, declaration of result, and registration
Age Limit
- Between 18 to 30 years as on the last date of application
- Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India rules for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwBD/ Ex-Servicemen
Selection Process
The selection for AIIMS NORCET 2026 includes two stages of Computer Based Tests (CBT):
- Stage I – NORCET Preliminary (qualifying stage)
- Stage II – NORCET Mains.
- Candidates must qualify Stage I to appear for Stage II. The merit list and seat allocation are based on performance in the Stage II exam, with seat allocation as per merit and candidate’s preferences.
AIIMS NORCET 2026: Exam Pattern
There are two stages for the candidate applying under AIIMS NORCET 2026:
Stage I: NORCET Preliminary
- Duration: 90 minutes
- 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 100 marks
- Sections: 20 questions on General Knowledge & Aptitude, 80 questions on Nursing syllabus
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer
- Qualifying marks: 50 percentile for UR/EWS, 45 percentile for OBC, 40 percentile for SC/ST
- Additional relaxation of 5 percentile for PwBD candidates
Stage II: NORCET Mains
- Duration: 180 minutes
- 160 MCQs carrying 160 marks based on case scenario and nursing skills competency
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer
- Sections: 4 sections of 45 minutes each with 40 questions per section
- Qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for OBC, 40% for SC/ST with additional 5% relaxation for PwBD

Steps to Apply
- The candidates applying under AIIMS NORCET 2026 must visit the official AIIMS exam website
- Register and fill the online application form from 24th February 2026 to 16th March 2026 (up to 5:00 PM)
- Upload required certificates and documents as per specifications
- Pay the prescribed application fee through Debit/Credit Card or Netbanking
- Submit the application before the closing date
- Keep a copy of the filled application and payment receipt for record
