Salary/ Pay Scale

The pay scale of the candidate will avail after getting selected under AIIMS Guwahati Faculty Recruitment 2026 is given as follows:

• Professor: Level 14-A of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with minimum pay of ₹1,68,900 plus NPA for medical candidates.
• Additional Professor: Level 13-A2+ with minimum pay of ₹1,48,200 plus NPA for medical candidates.
• Associate Professor: Level 13-A1+ with minimum pay of ₹1,38,300 plus NPA for medical candidates.
• Assistant Professor: Level 12 with minimum pay of ₹1,01,500 plus NPA for medical candidates, provision to move to Level 13 after three years.
• Usual allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees at Guwahati, Assam.
• Probation period of two years and provision for assessment promotion based on service.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• Professor and Additional Professor: Maximum age limit is 58 years as on the last date of online application.
• Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: Maximum age limit is 50 years as on the last date of online application.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Professor: Medical candidates must possess MBBS, MD/MS or equivalent, with 11-14 years of teaching or research experience depending on qualification. Non-medical candidates require a master’s degree with doctoral degree and 14 years of experience.
• Additional Professor: Medical qualifications similar to Professor with 7-10 years of experience. Non-medical candidates require doctoral degree with 10 years of experience.
• Associate Professor: Medical candidates require MD/MS or equivalent with 3-6 years experience; super-specialities require DM/M.Ch with 3-4 years experience. Non-medical candidates need doctoral degree with 6 years experience.
• Assistant Professor: Medical candidates require MD/MS or equivalent with 1-3 years experience. Super-speciality candidates with 3 years recognized DM/M.Ch are eligible without experience. Non-medical candidates require doctoral degree with 3 years experience.
• DNB qualifications must be accompanied by equivalence documentation as per the Medical Council of India guidelines.

Selection Process
