APSC Soil Conservation Ranger Recruitment 2025: Apply for 16 vacancies

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released the advertisement via ADVT. NO. 25/2025 for Soil Conservation Ranger Recruitment 2025 under the Soil Conservation Department, Government of Assam. A total of 16 vacancies have been announced. Interested candidates can apply online through the APSC portal between 09 July and 20 August 2025.

Vacancies of Soil Conservation Ranger Recruitment 2025

A total of 16 job openings have been announced for Soil Conservation Ranger Recruitment 2025 in the Soil Conservation Department. The category-wise breakup is as follows:

Pay Scale

• Pay Band: PB-3 (Rs. 22,000/- to Rs. 97,000/-)
• Grade Pay: Rs. 9,700/-
• Other allowances as per Assam State Government norms

Eligibility Criteria

Age

• Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
• Must possess a valid PRC issued for education/ employment or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
• Age limit: 21 to 38 years as of 01-01-2025.
• Age Relaxations:
  • 5 years for SC/ ST(P)/ ST(H)
  • 3 years for OBC/ MOBC

Educational Qualification

• To apply for Soil Conservation Ranger Recruitment 2025 the candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering from a recognized university with at least one of the following subjects:
  • Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Botany, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Physics

Physical Standards

Selection Procedure

The selection process for Soil Conservation Ranger Recruitment 2025 will consist of the following stages:

(1) Written Exam (600 Marks)

• Candidates must appear for four papers, including two optional subjects.
• Optional subjects (any two): Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Botany, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Physics
• The standard of questions will be of Bachelor’s Degree level.
• All subjects will have OMR-based question papers, with the exception of English. The English paper will be subjective, focusing on precise writing, essay writing, and grammar, and will not have negative marking

(2) Walking Test & Medical Exam

• 25 km for males, 16 km for females in 4 hours
• Followed by a medical exam by the Medical Board

Note: A candidate for direct recruitment under Soil Conservation Ranger Recruitment 2025 shall produce to the Commission, certificates of good character from the following:
a) The Principal Academic officer of the University or the College or such Educational Institutions in which he studies last and
b) Two respectable persons who are well acquainted with but not related to) the candidates
