The Assam CEE 2026 is a Combined Entrance Examination conducted for admission to four-year Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) programmes in Assam for the academic session 2026-27. This entrance test is organised by Assam Science and Technology University and follows the syllabus outlined by the Assam State School Education Board for Higher Secondary Division. The exam provides aspiring engineering students with an opportunity to secure admission in multiple colleges across Assam. The examination will be held on 14th June 2026 and consists of multiple-choice questions covering Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The minimum age to appear for Assam CEE 2026 is 17 years as of 31st December 2026. There is no upper age limit for candidates.

Educational Criteria

  • Candidates applying under Assam CEE 2026 must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam with a valid PRC issued by the competent authorities.
  • Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary School Completion (HSC) Examination (10+2 or equivalent) in a single sitting without grace marks in mandatory subjects, individually in theory and practical.
  • Minimum aggregate score of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates) in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates with a 3-year Diploma in Engineering & Technology or a B.Sc. degree with mathematics as a subject and the required percentage are also eligible.
  • Reservations and category certificates, such as Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) for OBC/ MOBC, must be valid and submitted at the time of counselling.

Assam CEE 2026: Selection Process

The Assam CEE 2026 selection is based solely on the marks obtained in the entrance examination. The university conducts the examination and publishes the results, but counselling and admissions are handled by the State Council for Technical Education, Assam. The ranking is determined by total marks obtained in the three subjects, with tie-breakers considering marks in Mathematics, then Physics, Chemistry, date of birth, and alphabetical order.

Exam Pattern/ Admission Test Details

The exam pattern of the Assam CEE 2026 is given as follows:

  • Exam Date: 14th June 2026
  • Duration: 3 hours (11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)
  • Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type examination
  • Total Questions: 120 questions (40 each in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry)
  • Marking Scheme: +4 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for each incorrect answer, and no marks for multiple answers
  • Medium: English and Assamese
  • OMR answer sheets will be used; use a black ballpoint pen only
  • Exam Centres include Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, Silchar, and Tezpur

  • Register with a valid email ID and mobile number
  • Fill the online application form available on the ASTU website carefully and submit
  • Make payment of the application fee via debit/credit card or net banking through the official portal
  • Download and preserve the confirmation and application printout for counselling
  • No changes will be entertained after submission of the application form and payment

Fee Structure

The application fee for Assam CEE 2026 is Rs. 1500/- and must be paid online through the official portal using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. This fee is non-refundable, and payment should be made only through the official application portal. Fee payment after the last date will not be accepted.
