The Assam Academy of Mathematics has recently released the notification for the Assam Mathematics Olympiad 2022. Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM) annually conducts the state-level mathematics competition, Assam Mathematics Olympiad, and this year it will be held on 21st August 2022.
About Assam Academy of Mathematics
The Assam Academy of Mathematics is a non-profit Academic Voluntary organization that was established on 18th July 1986 to promote and popularize mathematics study and research in Assam. Concerning to increase the reach of the cause of Mathematics Study the Academy conducts such competitions, publishes magazines and journals, and also conducts symposia, seminars, and discussions.
The Academy publishes its popular magazine named Ganit Bikash with articles related to any domain of mathematics, theoretical computer science, and theoretical physics, quarterly in online mode.

About Assam Mathematics Olympiad 2022
This year the Assam Mathematics Olympiad is scheduled to be held on the 21st of August 2022(Sunday) in its 47 exam centers in the state.
The competition will be held in three categories, namely-
- category I – classes V and VI
- category II – classes VII and VIII and
- category III – classes IX, X, and XI
Important dates for Assam Mathematics Olympiad 2022
The application process for Assam Mathematics Olympiad 2022 is live now and will be available till 8th August 2022. Interested candidates can visit the official website and download the Application form. The Application form has to be then filled up and submit to the coordinator of the candidate’s desired exam centre with an exam fee of Rs.150.00 (one fifty only).
Note: The list of exam centres with code numbers and details of the officer in charge is given in the Application form, candidates can assist the list to submit their application form.

Benefits of Assam Mathematics Olympiad 2022
The top position holders in all the categories will be awarded cash prizes and certificates. Also, subject to attaining the minimum standard of marks Academy may consider awarding a few certificates of merit and appreciation respectively in each category.
Candidates will get themselves familiar with other mathematics competitions like-
- RMO – Regional Mathematical Olympiad
- IOQM – Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (previously PRMO)
- INMO – Indian National Mathematical Olympiad
- iMOTC – International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp
- TST – Team Selection Tests (these are IMO-styled tests that are held to select the Indian IMOteam in IMOTC)
- IMO – International Mathematical Olympiad
To name some byproducts of succeeding in INMO: direct selection in CMI, ISI in IIT Bombay BS in Math.
