Assam PGT Teacher Recruitment 2024: The Director of Secondary Education, Assam (DSE) has recently released the advertisement for the vacancies of Graduate Teachers (GT) and Post-Graduate Teachers (PGT). The application portal is already open from the 21st of October, 2024 and the interested candidates have time up to the 15th of November, 2024 to submit their forms.

Pay Scale
The remuneration for candidates selected in the PGT Teacher Recruitment 2024 (in Provincialised and Government Secondary Schools) will include salary and other allowances. The salary details are given below:

Eligibility
- The candidate applying for Assam PGT Teacher Recruitment 2024 must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from single or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms.
- Age Limit: A candidate must not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years for the unreserved category, 40 years for Ex-Servicemen, 41 years for OBC/ MOBC and 43 years for SC/ ST(P)/ST(H) and 48 years for Persons with Disability (PwD) as on 1st January 2023.
Educational Qualification
A candidate applying under Assam PGT Teacher Recruitment 2024 in both Government or Provincialised Secondary Schools must meet the following Educational Criteria as given below:
- The applicant must be a postgraduate in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognized University.
- The candidates need to have should Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) qualification from an institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education.
- The candidate shall have to read the same subject as one of the subjects at the degree level.
- Degrees obtained in off-campus and distance education mode shall not be considered valid.

- Admit Card/ Pass Certificate/ Marksheet of Class 10th issued by Central/ State Board indicating Date of Birth in support of their claim of age
- Mark sheet and Certificate of Class-XlI
- Mark sheet and Certificate of Bachelor Degree
- Marksheet and Certificate of Post-Graduate Degree
- Any other mark sheet and certificate of higher education
- B.Ed Certificate
- Caste certificate (if Applicable)
- Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC)
- Employment Exchange Number
- PwBD certificate (wherever Necessary)
- No Objection Certificate (For Govt. Employee)
- Certificate of Ex-servicemen issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board (if Applicable)
How to apply?
To apply for Assam PGT Teacher Recruitment 2024, they must follow the given steps:
- First of all, click on the ‘Online Application Portal’ option as given below in the Important Links section
- Fill out the registration form with personal details and information about educational qualifications
- Upload a passport-sized image and signature, then submit the registration form
- Next, log in using the username and password communicated to the registered phone number and email
- Once logged in, apply for Graduate & Post-graduate vacancies- that you are eligible for
- Pay the applicable fees using any one of the available options
- After completing these steps, download the application form and the payment receipt for future reference
Note: There is a single registration form for the recruitment of Graduate and Post Graduate Teachers, so candidates applying for both vacancies need to register only once. However, they will need to apply for GT and PGT posts separately and will need to pay fees accordingly.

Selection Procedure
To be selected for Assam PGT Teacher Recruitment 2024, candidates need to appear in the Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test, and the details of the same are given below:

- The examination will be of 2½ hours duration and will consist of 140 questions of 1 mark each.
- Wrong answers and selecting more than one option per question will be marked negatively at 0.25 marks per question.
- The question paper will be given in the multi-lingual form, viz. Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, English medium.
- The examination of PGT Teacher Recruitment 2024 will be conducted in Cachar, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nalbari and Sonitpur.
NCC/ Sports/ Fine Arts and Cultural Activities (5 or 3 marks)
- NCC Certificates (5 marks for “C” Certificate and 3 marks for “B” Certificate)/ 5 marks for participation in recognized sports at National Level representing Assam/ 5 marks for achievements in Fine Arts and Cultural Activities representing the State officially at National Level
- Candidates who have passed the earlier Higher Secondary TET and have not been appointed to date shall get weightage @ 5% of the marks secured in the TET or a maximum of 5 marks for selection as a Post Graduate Teacher.
