CLAT 2022 registration started; all you should know before applying

The registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 has begun from 1st January 2022 onwards and will continue till 31st March 2022.

The Consortium of National Law Universities conducts the CLAT examination for the admission of students to both UG & PG courses in the National Law Universities (NLUs) and this year CLAT examination is scheduled to be held on 8th May 2022 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Pen and Paper mode.

There are about 22 NLUs all over India, which provide courses such as BBA LLB, B.Sc. LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com. LLB, BSW LLB, and LLM. The total number of seats all over NLUs is around 2,622 seats in 5-year integrated LLB programmes and around 850 seats in one year LLM courses.

Eligibility 

The eligibility for the CLAT 2022 for admissions into UG courses is that the candidate must have passed Class 12th or he/ she will be appearing this year. They will need to qualify with a minimum of 45% marks in the 12th standard or equivalent examination. However, there is a relaxation of 5% for the reserved categories. 

And for PG admissions via CLAT 2022, the candidate must have passed LLB or should be in the final year of their LLB degree. And they will need to pass the respective course with a minimum of 50% marks; with a relaxation of 5% for the reserved categories.

Registration Fees

The application fees for CLAT 2022 (both UG & PG course) is Rs 4000/- for candidates of UR/ OBC/ PWD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI categories and Rs 3500 /- for SC/ ST/ BPL category sudents.
