CSIR NAL Scientist 2025: The National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR NAL), a research lab in Bangalore, is involved in R&D, with its main focus on civil aviation. CSIR NAL invites young researchers to work in the exciting task of Aerospace R&D, Technology Development and related applications to the post of Grade IV Scientist. Pay Scale

For the post of Scientist/ Grade IV (2) under the CSIR NAL Scientist Jobs 2025, the employees will be paid according to the pay level 11 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix.
The basic pay range will be between ₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700 per month
Apart from this, the candidates will also receive –

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CSIR NAL Scientist post, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria –

Nationality

Only Indian citizens can apply for the post

Age Limit

As of 3rd April, 2025, the candidate must not exceed the age of 32 years
However, age relaxations provided for certain categories are –
- SC/ ST Candidates – 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) –
  - General/ EWS PwBD – 10 years
  - OBC PwBD – 13 years
  - SC/ ST PwBD – 15 years
- CSIR Employees & Government Servants: Age relaxation as per CSIR/ Govt. rules

Educational Qualification

The candidate must hold a M.E./ M.Tech (Master of Engineering/ Master of Technology) degree or a Ph.D. (Science/ Engineering) degree (Submitted or awarded) in the post as desired

Selection Process

The selection process for the CSIR NAL Scientist positions consists shortlisting the candidate on the merit basis followed by an interview.
A screening committee will review the submitted applications based on predefined shortlisting criteria.
If shortlisted, candidates will be called for an interview based on the following criteria –
- On the basis of higher educational qualifications
- Desirable Qualifications and/ or Desirable Experience in the relevant field or higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
- Patent filed, publications in SCI/ Peer Reviewed journals, etc.
- Quality, number and authorship (i.e. whether first author or co-author, corresponding author etc.) of Scientific Journal Publications.
- Research specialization/ Ph. D. discipline determined from the topic of research publication/ Ph.D. Thesis
- On the basis of written test/ seminar.
- By counting experience after the acquisition of Essential Educational qualifications.
- By invoking experience even in cases where there is no experience mentioned either as Essential Qualification (EQ) or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).

Note – The candidate should mention all qualifications and experience possessed by them in the
relevant area over and above the minimum prescribed qualifications, supported with documents.
