DEE Assam Recruitment 2023: Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam has released a notification for filling up more than 5000 vacancies of Assistant Teachers (AT) in the state’s elementary schools. The advertisement have been released for the posts in Upper Primary (UP) and Lower Primary (LP) elementary schools. Recently, DSE also released vacancies for the post of PGT in different higher secondary institutions of the state.
Under DEE Assam Recruitment 2023, all the submission of application forms will be in online mode. Apart from the posts of AT, the post for Science Teachers under UP is also covered in the current notification. DEE Assam Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the candidates under DEE Assam Recruitment 2023 (appearing for the recruitment in UP and LP schools) are different. The clear information regarding their eligibility criteria is laid below:
For Lower Primary
The post in the Lower Primary category is for the Assistant Teacher. The details regarding the post are given below:
- The candidate applying to the post under DEE Assam Recruitment 2023 must complete his/ her senior secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002 OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-Year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and2-Year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- The candidate must pass in Assam Teachers Eligibility Test (ATET)/ Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) for LPS
- A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years for the unreserved category, 42 years for Ex-Servicemen, 43 years for OBC/ MOBC, and 45 years for SC/ ST(P) /ST(H) and 50 years for Persons with Disability (PwD), as on 1 January 2023
- No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from single or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms, the Guidelines contained in the official notification
Upper Primary
There is the selection of Assistant Teachers and Science Teachers in the Upper Primary elementary educational institutions of Assam. The criteria are laid out below:
- Assistant Teacher
- Graduate from the UGC-recognized University
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education) and passed in ATET/ CTET
- Science Teacher
- Graduate from the UGC-recognized University
- B.Sc. from the UGC recognized University and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. or D.Ed.(Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education) and passed ATET/ CTET for UPS (Science and Mathematics).
- The candidate must pass in Assam Teachers Eligibility Test (ATET)/ Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) for LPS
- A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years for the unreserved category, 42 years for Ex-Servicemen, 43 years for OBC/ MOBC, and 45 years for SC/ ST(P) /ST(H) and 50 years for Persons with Disability (PwD), as on 1 January 2023

Note: The regular teachers working in LP Schools are not allowed to apply for any posts in LP Schools and regular teachers working in UP Schools are not allowed to apply for any posts in UP Schools. However, only regular LP teachers, if otherwise eligible, may apply in UP Schools through the proper channel.
DEE Assam Recruitment 2023: Selection Process
The selection process under DEE Assam Recruitment 2023, in both the UP and LP schools, is very similar. Only a few portions have differences regarding their selection procedure. They are laid in the table given below:

DEE Assam Recruitment 2023: Category-wise post break up
The district-wise, medium-wise, and category-wise break-up of vacancies showing the reservation for OBC/ MOBC/ SC/ ST(P)/ ST(H)/ PwD/ Women/ Ex-Servicemen, etc. under DEE Assam Recruitment 2023 will be notified in due course of time, subject to the approval of the Post-Based Roster from the WPT & BC Department, Personnel Department and subject to the approval of the vacant posts from Finance (SIU) Department.
The vacancies of DEE Assam Recruitment 2023 may vary due to administrative reasons. The DEE Assam reserves the right to make changes in sequences of the recruitment process after the publication of the advertisement.

- Fill in all your credentials and upload all your documents
- Then click the “Submit” button
- After submitting the online application, the candidates will get a Unique Number against the submitted application and will keep the printout of the unique Number for all future references
- Candidates should be cautious while submitting the online application as once the online application is submitted against a particular Roll Number of Assam TET examination, they will not be allowed to submit the online application for the second time
