UPSC ESE 2023 application forms out till 4 October; Apply for 327 vacancies

UPSC ESE 2023 also known as the UPSC Indian Engineering Service examination (IES) 2023 started its application process from 14th September 2022.

UPSC ESE 2023: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the notification regarding the application form for the Engineering Service Examination (ESE) on the 14th of September 2022. The application form fillup procedures will end on the 4th of October, 2022. UPSC ESE 2023 is also known as the UPSC Indian Engineering Service examination (IES) 2023. It is a nationwide examination for the recruitment of engineers who possess a degree in a relevant field.

The examination will occur on the 19th of February 2023 which is for Grade A and Grade B posts. The UPSC ESE 2023 will contain vacancies for 327 posts in various Engineering departments. These departments are:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

The candidates can apply for the posts through the One Time Registration (OTR) process which was introduced early this year to facilitate the registration process for UPSC examinations.

UPSC ESE 2023: How to apply?

To apply for the examinations, follow the given steps:

  • Candidates are required to apply Online using the link www.upsconline.nic.in. In case the applicant has not yet registered in the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, the link of which is already available on the Commission’s website, he/she should register on this platform and thereafter proceed for filling up the online application for the UPSC ESE 2023 examination.
  • To complete the OTR registrations, follow the given steps:
    • Click the new registrations option on the portal.
    • Fill in all the necessary credentials.
    • Insert the security question and click the submit option.
    • Verify through the Email and create a password.
    • The OTR process will be completed.
    • The candidates can log in through email and password.
  • The candidate must go to the Latest Notification tab in the OTR application. Then select UPSC ESE 2023 examination option.
  • Click the Active registration option and fill in all the necessary credentials.

Note:

  1. The applicants are advised to submit only a single application; however, if due to any unavoidable situation, if he/she submits another/multiple applications, then he/ she must ensure that the application with the higher Registration ID (RID) is complete in all respects like applicants’ details, examination center, photograph, signature, fee, etc.
  2. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications under UPSC ESE 2023 should note that only the applications with higher RID shall be entertained by the Commission and the fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.
  3. All candidates, whether already in Government Service, in Government owned industrial undertakings or other similar organizations, or in private employment, should apply online directly to the Commission.
  4. Persons, already in Government service whether in a permanent or temporary capacity or as work-charged employees other than causal or daily rated employees or those serving under public enterprises are, however, required to inform their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for the Examination.

Note:

The eligibility of transgender for AEE (Civil) and AEE {(Electrical and Mechanical) (Mechanical Engg Posts)} in Border Road Engineering Service shall be as per the decision taken by the Government in due course.
