Salary and Benefits
The selected candidates will join as Executive Trainee in E2 grade under GAIL Recruitment 2026 with a pay scale of ₹ 60,000 to ₹ 1,80,000. The basic pay during training will be ₹ 60,000. Relaxation of 5% in marks is available for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates for reserved posts only. Candidates must have completed or be in the final year (2025-26) of the relevant engineering degree.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit of the candidates applying under GAIL Recruitment 2026 is 26 years as on 18th March 2026, with age relaxation for reserved categories as:
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD (General/ EWS): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC NCL): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ ST): 15 years
Note: Ex-servicemen eligible for additional relaxation. The upper age limit including all relaxations shall not exceed 56 years.
Selection Process
The selection of the candidates under GAIL Recruitment 2026 will be based on GATE-2026 marks followed by Group Discussion (GD) and/or Interview. For PwBD categories B, D and E, GD may be replaced by case study or writing exercise. Minimum qualifying marks for the interview are 60% for UR/ OBC(NCL)/ EWS, 55% for SC/ ST, and 50% for PwBD candidates. The GD or alternative assessments require minimum 40% marks for UR/ OBC(NCL)/ EWS and 35% for SC/ ST/ PwBD.
