HAL Recruitment 2026: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has released Advertisement No. HAL/CHRC-TM/RECT-02/2026 dated 29th July 2026 for the Selection of Design Trainees (DT) and Management Trainees (MT) 2026. HAL is a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking and a premier Aeronautics Complex in South Asia, functioning under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Over the last eight decades, the company has undertaken the design, development, manufacture, maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade of aircraft, helicopters, aero-engines, accessories, avionics, and systems across 20 Production Divisions, 10 Research & Development Centres, and one Facilities Management Division, spread over 7 States.

Posts advertised for Design Trainees are meant for HAL’s Research & Design Centres, while Management Trainee posts are for its Production, Overhaul and Service Divisions. The notified vacancies under HAL Recruitment 2026 are inclusive of backlog vacancies (SC – 2, ST – 5, and OBC-NCL – 5), and 3 posts under Design Trainee and 2 posts under Management Trainee are earmarked for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) across the specified disciplines, as detailed in the official notification.
Pay Scale/ Stipend
During the training period, Trainees selected under HAL Recruitment 2026 will draw a stipend comprising Basic Pay of Rs. 50,000/-, Variable Dearness Allowance and Canteen Allowance, along with Bachelor Accommodation as per company rules. On successful completion of the 52-week training programme, Trainees will be absorbed as Engineers in the Grade-II Scale of Pay of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,60,000/-, along with Basic Pay, Variable Dearness Allowance, other perks and allowances under the Cafeteria system, Company Accommodation or House Rent Allowance, Performance Related Pay, medical facilities, Provident Fund, Gratuity and other superannuation benefits as applicable.
Selected candidates selected under HAL Recruitment 2026 are required to execute a Service Agreement Bond to serve HAL for 5 years, excluding the training period. In case of a breach of this agreement, the candidate is liable to reimburse the training expenses, subject to a maximum of Rs. 15,00,000/-.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying under HAL Recruitment 2026 must hold a regular/full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology (under the 10+2+4 pattern, or 10+3+3 for lateral entry) in the eligible disciplines and branches notified for each post, including Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, Metallurgy, Production and Civil Engineering, along with their several allied and equivalent branches as listed in the detailed advertisement. Candidates possessing a Diploma along with the Engineering Degree, or a 5-year Integrated Degree in the notified discipline, are also eligible. Part-time, correspondence, e-learning and distance education courses are not eligible.
Candidates applying under HAL Recruitment 2026 should have secured the following minimum aggregate percentage of marks across all semesters/ years of their qualifying degree.

Age Limit
The upper age limit for candidates under HAL Recruitment 2026 should not exceed 28 years as on 14th August 2026 for UR and EWS category candidates. Candidates from SC/ ST/ OBC(NCL)/ PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and those domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 1st January 1980 and 31st December 1989 are entitled to age relaxation as per government norms; candidates may refer to the official notification (linked in Important Links) for the complete category-wise relaxation details.
Nationality
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for HAL Recruitment 2026.
Selection Process
Selection under HAL Recruitment 2026 comprises an Online Computer-Based Selection Test held on an All-India basis, followed by a Personal Interview at Bengaluru. Candidates are shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5 to the number of vacancies in each discipline and category, based on merit in the online test. The final merit list is prepared with 85% weightage for the Online Test and 15% weightage for the Interview, and candidates must secure at least 50% marks in each stage to qualify, subject to relaxation for reserved categories.
Exam Pattern
The Online Selection Test under HAL Recruitment 2026 will be of two and a half hours’ duration and can be taken in Hindi or English, as chosen by the candidate at the time of application.

- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer, for candidates in Government/ PSU/ Autonomous Body employment
- Conversion Certificate for CGPA/ letter grade to percentage, where applicable

- Register using a valid e-mail ID for OTP-based verification, and ensure it remains active for the entire selection cycle.
- Fill in the eligibility details and upload your photograph; note that eligibility details cannot be edited once submitted.
- Complete the personal and qualification details, using the “Edit” option to verify entries before final submission.
- SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Internal candidates will have their registration completed on submission of personal and qualification details.
- UR/ OBC(NCL)/ EWS candidates will be directed to the payment gateway to pay the application fee via Credit Card, Internet Banking or UPI.
- Retain a printout of the Application Confirmation page for future reference.
