The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), under the Ministry of Defence, has invited online applications for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 through the Coast Guard Enrolled Persons Test (CGEPT) for Batches 01/2027 and 02/2027. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting recruitment for the posts of Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), Yantrik, and Hygienist-I.
Applications for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 will be accepted online only from 6th October 2026 to 21st October 2026. Both male and female Indian citizens can apply for Navik (General Duty), while the other posts are open to male candidates only.

- Recruitment for Navik (General Duty) male candidates will be zone-wise, with separate merit lists for the North, West, East, South and Central zones.
- Recruitment for Navik (General Duty) female, Yantrik, Navik (Domestic Branch) and Hygienist-I posts will be on an all-India basis.
- Yantrik selection is only for Batch 01/27, while Navik (Domestic Branch) and Hygienist-I selection is only for Batch 02/27.

- Dearness Allowance and other allowances will be paid as per the nature of duty and place of posting.
- Other benefits include free ration and clothing, free medical treatment for self and family, government accommodation or House Rent Allowance,
- 45 days of earned leave and 8 days of casual leave every year, and pension under NPS or UPS along with gratuity.
- Insurance cover of Rs. 75 lakh is also available from the Naval Group Insurance Fund on a fixed monthly contribution.

Nationality and Gender
- Only Indian citizens can apply for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026.
- Both male and female candidates can apply for Navik (General Duty).
- Only male candidates can apply for Navik (Domestic Branch), Yantrik and Hygienist-I.
- Persons with any kind of disability are not eligible to apply.
- A candidate can apply for only one post.
Physical Standards
- Minimum height is 157 cm for male candidates and 152 cm for female candidates, with relaxation for candidates from certain regions as per the notification.
- Minimum chest circumference for male candidates is 77 cm with expansion of at least 5 cm, and female candidates must have a minimum chest expansion of 5 cm.
- Candidates using glasses are not eligible for the General Duty branch.
Selection Process
The selection for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 will be based on performance in four stages, along with medical standards and the number of vacancies available.
- Stage I: Computer-Based Online Examination
- Stage II: Physical Fitness Test, Assessment and Adaptability Test, Document Verification and Recruitment Medical Examination at ICG recruitment centres
- Stage III: Identity check, document verification and pre-enrolment medical at INS Chilka
- Stage IV: Verification of original documents with the concerned boards, universities or state authorities
The merit list will be based only on marks scored in Stage I, qualification in all phases of Stage II and the vacancies available. Assessment test marks will be used only to break a tie. In case of a tie in Stage I marks, the older candidate will be placed higher, followed by the candidate with more marks in the Assessment Test.
The selection of Navik (General Duty) candidates under Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 in either batch will depend on merit, vacancies and administrative requirements, and candidates cannot claim selection in a particular batch.

The passing marks are 40 for UR/ EWS/ OBC candidates and 35 for SC/ ST candidates. If the exam is held in multiple shifts, the marks will be normalised.
Stage II: Physical Fitness Test
All four tests of Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 will be conducted continuously without any break. Any break will lead to failure in the test.

Candidates who qualify the PFT will appear for an online or OMR-based Assessment and Adaptability Test, which is qualifying in nature. Stage II is only qualifying in nature and lasts 1 to 2 days.
Documents Required
The following documents must be uploaded while filling the online application for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026:
- Recent passport-size colour photograph, not older than three months before the opening of applications
- Live image captured during registration
- Scanned signature
- Date of birth proof (Class 10th mark sheet or birth certificate)
- Identity proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence or Passport), with Aadhaar to be uploaded first by those who have it
- Domicile certificate for Navik (General Duty) male candidates, and for other posts only if height relaxation is required
- Service certificate or NOC, if serving in the Coast Guard as personnel or civilian
Candidates shortlisted for Stage II must also upload their category certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ EWS), the relevant Class 8th, 10th and 12th mark-sheets and certificates as applicable to the post, ITI or Diploma certificates and mark-sheets, and an NOC if employed in a government organisation. All uploaded documents must be valid at least up to 31st December 2027.

- Log in and register by following the on-screen instructions.
- Note down the registered email ID and mobile number, as they will be shown only in encrypted form later.
- Fill in the application form and enter the marks of all subjects as per the mark sheet.
- Upload the photograph, signature and other required documents as per the specifications, and capture the live image.
- Check the application using the print preview option.
- Pay the examination fee online, if applicable, and submit the application for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026.
- Use the edit window of 2 to 3 days, when provided, to correct only the permitted fields.
