The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), functioning under the Department of Space, Government of India, has released ISRO Recruitment 2026 for the post of Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of Pay Matrix. The advertisement, numbered ISRO:ICRB:02(EMC-CEPO):2026 and dated 28th July 2026, has been issued by the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB).
ISRO Recruitment 2026 invites applications for Group ‘A’ Gazetted posts in constituent Centres/Units and Group ‘A’ Non-Gazetted posts in Autonomous Bodies of the Department of Space, covering Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Civil, Electrical, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, and Architecture disciplines. Eligible engineering graduates with a valid GATE score can apply online.

Candidates selected under ISRO Recruitment 2026 will be posted at various Centres/ Units, including HSFC, LPSC, URSC and ISRO Headquarters at Bengaluru, NRSC Hyderabad, SAC Ahmedabad, SDSC SHAR Sriharikota, VSSC Thiruvananthapuram, IPRC Mahendragiri, MCF Hassan, LPSC Valiamala, and PRL Ahmedabad, depending on the post and requirement.
Pay and Allowances
- Selected candidates under ISRO Recruitment 2026 will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix, with a minimum basic pay of Rs. 56,100/- per month.
- There will also be Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Transport Allowance as per extant rules.
- Employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme/ Unified Pension Scheme, and are entitled to medical facilities, subsidised canteen, limited quarters facility, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, and House Building Advance, as admissible under Central Government orders.

Educational Qualification
The educational qualification for ISRO Recruitment 2026 requires a BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree with an aggregate minimum of 65 percent marks (average of all semesters) or a CGPA of 6.84 on a 10-point scale, along with a valid GATE score in the corresponding paper:

Where a university mentions both CGPA and percentage on the degree certificate, meeting at least one of the two criteria is sufficient. Where only CGPA is mentioned, that CGPA itself must meet the eligibility norm, and conversion of CGPA into percentage is not permitted for this purpose.
Age Limit
- To be eligible for all posts under ISRO Recruitment 2026, candidate’s age should be 28 years or less as on 17th August 2026.
- Serving government employees are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders, and candidates with Benchmark Disabilities, SC, ST, and OBC candidates are eligible for age relaxation on reserved posts, as per applicable government norms.
Selection Process
Candidates under ISRO Recruitment 2026 will be screened-in for interview purely on the basis of a valid GATE 2025 or GATE 2026 score, in the same discipline as the qualifying degree, and not on GATE marks or GATE rank. Shortlisting for interview will be done in the ratio of 1:7 based on the GATE score entered in the online application.

For the final selection panel, 50 percent weightage will be given to GATE scores and 50 percent to interview marks. ISRO reserves the right to change the qualification criteria for interview and final selection due to administrative reasons.
