Jagannath Barooah College or popularly known as JB College, Jorhat, has recently released a notice about 08 vacancies for posts of Assistant Professor in different departments, hereby inviting applications for filling up the vacant posts.

Eligibility criteria for vacancies at JB College

• Approval of the Roster for filling up the vacant post from the Govt. as well from this Directorate.
• The applicant can be of a maximum of 38 years as of 01/01/2023, with a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC/ MOBC, and 10 years for PwD candidates.
• The candidates must have PRC and must know the local language.
• Candidate has to acquire qualifications on or before the last date for submitting applications. Eligibility like M.Phil/ PhD/ Seminar Paper/ Publications can be acquired and submitted on the date of the interview and not beyond.

Education Qualification

• The candidate applying for vacancies at J.B College must have at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade on a point scale at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
• Besides, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) Conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/ SET.
• NET/ SLET/ SET shall not be required for such Master programs in disciplines for which NET/ SLET/ SET is not conducted.
• Candidates having a PhD degree in accordance with UGC regulation 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of minimum eligibility conditions of NET/ SLET/ SET.
• A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and Master’s level for the Scheduled caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility. The 5% relaxation will not include any grace
• The period of time taken by Candidates to acquire M.Phil and or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as Teaching/ research experience for appointment to the positions

The candidate must submit the application to the below mention address accompanied by a non-refundable Demand Draft of Rs. 1500/- only drawn in favour of “Principal, JB College, Jorhat payable at SBI Jorhat Branch (IFSC: SBIN0000104) and should reach the undersigned within 15 days from the publication of the advertisement. • The Interview call letter to the eligible candidate will be communicated by speed post and displayed on the College Website.
• The Interview schedule (Date & Time) will be uploaded to JB College’s Website.
