NEHU ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026: Application portal closes today; Apply Online for 27 Posts

North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong Campus, Meghalaya, has invited online applications from Indian Nationals for engagement of Guest Faculty in the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the Academic Session 2026-27. The recruitment, notified vide F.No.8-2/Estt.II(B)/GL/Advertisement/2026-9446 dated 1st September 2026, is being conducted as per the regulations of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Under NEHU ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026, a total of 27 Guest Faculty positions are available across B.Sc. B.Ed., B.A. B.Ed., and Pedagogy subjects, all at the Shillong Campus. Note: In total, NEHU ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026 covers 27 Guest Faculty positions, all located at the Shillong Campus. The notification does not provide any reservation-category (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS) breakup for these posts.

Remuneration

• The remuneration under NEHU ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026 will be at the rate of Rs. 1,500/- per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/- per month (conditions apply).
• The posts are purely for a defined short duration and are of the nature of Guest Faculty. No other emoluments, allowances, or Medical reimbursement are admissible; no vacation salary is payable, and Guest/Part-time faculty will not be given the benefit of pension, gratuity, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc. B.Ed. and B.A. B.Ed. Subjects: PG in the concerned or relevant subject with 55% marks, B.Ed./M.Ed. with 55% marks, and NET/SLET/PhD in Education or the concerned subject.
• Pedagogy of Physical Sciences: PG in Physics/Chemistry/Physical Science or a relevant discipline with 55% marks or equivalent grade; B.Ed./M.Ed. with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade; and NET/SLET/SET in Education or the relevant subject, or PhD in Education or the concerned subject.
• Pedagogy of Khasi: PG in Khasi with 55% marks or equivalent grade; B.Ed./M.Ed. with 55% marks or equivalent grade; and NET/SLET/SET in Education or the relevant subject, or PhD in Education or the concerned subject.
• Art Education: PG in Performing or Visual Arts with 55% marks or its equivalent grade.
• Educational Studies: PG in Education (M.Ed.) with 55% marks and NET/SLET/PhD in Education or relevant subjects. A PG in Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology, or their allied subjects is desirable.

Nationality

• Applicants must be Indian Nationals.
• The eligibility criteria of the candidates and other terms and conditions shall be as per UGC Regulations 2018/AICTE latest regulations, as the case may be, and their subsequent notifications/guidelines, if any.

Selection Process

• The date and time of the interview will be notified by the concerned department.
• Mere fulfilment of essential qualifications will not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview; the University reserves its right to shortlist the total number of candidates to be called. For all candidates, interviews shall be conducted in blended mode.
• Selection for the Guest Faculty shall be made by the University purely temporarily.
• The term of appointment will be for the current semester only, or till the regular faculty joins the department, whichever is earlier.
• The University reserves the right to take the services of Guest Faculty purely based on requirement, and selection does not indicate the allotment of classes to any extent.
• No application will be entertained after the last date and time mentioned.
• No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for attending the interview offline.
