The Office of the Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Assam, has issued a fresh advertisement inviting online applications for engagement on a contractual basis under the NHM Assam Vacancies 2026 drive. NHM Assam functions in mission mode to strengthen public healthcare delivery across the state, and this round of recruitment is meant to fill Staff Nurse positions across various zones.

Vacancy Details

The NHM Assam Vacancies 2026 notification has been released for the following post:

Of the total 2,204 Staff Nurse vacancies 1,701 posts fall under the Open (UR) category.
While the remaining are distributed as OBC/ MOBC (44), ST (Hills) (80), SC (209), and Tea Tribes (170), with no vacancies currently under ST (Plain).
Horizontal reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Women, and Ex-Servicemen will be applicable as per government norms.
The notification also states that the number of vacancies may vary at the time of actual recruitment.

The age limit will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation/ HSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate issued by a recognized Board/ Council; no other document will be accepted for this purpose.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Staff Nurse post under NHM Assam Vacancies 2026 must have passed the B.Sc. Nursing/ GNM Course from any nursing school/ institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, and must be registered with the Assam Nurses’ Midwives’ and Health Visitors’ Council.
