- Selection for the NIC Scientific/ Technical Assistant-A post will be made purely on the basis of the valid GATE score.
- A category-wise merit list will be prepared for each discipline based on the GATE score, with equal weightage given to GATE 2024, GATE 2025 and GATE 2026 scores.

- In case of a tie in GATE score between candidates, the older year’s GATE score will be ranked higher; if the score and year are the same, the older candidate will be ranked higher; and if a tie still persists, the candidate with the higher percentage or CGPA in the essential qualification will be ranked higher.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification as per vacancy requirements before a provisional appointment is offered.
- Candidates who fail to appear for document verification with original documents will not be eligible for provisional appointment.
