National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), a leading Public Sector General Insurance Company under the Govt of India, has invited online applications for the recruitment of Assistants in Class III cadre from the open market. The NICL Assistant Vacancies 2026 notification covers a total of 500 posts to be filled across various States and Union Territories of the country.

Candidates seeking government jobs in the insurance sector can apply for the NICL Assistant Vacancies 2026 from 18th July 2026 onwards. Recruitment under this cadre is done on a State/ UT-wise basis, so applicants can apply for a vacancy in only one State or Union Territory of their choice.

Pay Scale and Emoluments

  • Selected candidates under the NICL Assistant Vacancies 2026 will draw pay in the scale of Rs. 36290-2115(1)-38405-2310(2)-43025-2600(5)-56025-3005(2)-62035-3660(3)-73015-3800(2)-80615-4050(5)-100865.
  • The total gross emoluments work out to approximately Rs. 53,000/- per month in the initial stage in a Metro city, with other allowances varying by place of posting.
  • Employees are also entitled to Lump sum Domiciliary Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim Policy, Leave Travel Subsidy and other staff welfare schemes as per Company rules.

Eligibility for NICL Assistant Vacancies 2026

Nationality

A candidate applying for this recruitment must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or specified East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

  • As on 01.07.2026, the minimum age for the NICL Assistant Vacancies 2026 is 21 years and the maximum age is 30 years.
  • Candidates should have been born not earlier than 02.07.1996 and not later than 01.07.2005 (both days inclusive).
  • Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC Non-Creamy Layer (3 years), PwBD candidates (10 to 15 years depending on category), Ex-Servicemen, widows/ divorced/ legally separated women and existing employees of the Company as per Government norms; the complete category-wise relaxation table is available in the official notification.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants for these posts must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government, as on 01.07.2026.
  • Knowledge of reading, writing and speaking the regional language of the State/ UT applied for is essential, and this will be checked through a Regional Language Test before final selection.

Selection Process

  • Selection for the NICL Assistant Vacancies 2026 will be made through two online examinations, namely the Preliminary Examination and the Main Examination, followed by a Regional Language Test.
  • Candidates qualifying the Main Examination will be shortlisted for the Regional Language Test, which is of qualifying nature only and carries no separate marks.
  • Final selection will be based on performance in the Main Examination, subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test.

Exam Pattern

The Phase-I Preliminary Examination under the NICL Assistant Vacancies 2026 is an objective test of 100 marks to be completed in 60 minutes, as detailed below.

For every wrong answer marked in both the Preliminary and Main examinations, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty. No marks are deducted for questions left unattempted.

Steps to Apply

  • Visit the application portal of NICL Assistant Vacancies 2026 by clicking on the link given below in the “Important Links” section.
  • Choose the “Click here for New Registration” tab and enter your Name, Contact details and Email ID to generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password.
  • Upload the scanned Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression and Hand Written Declaration as per the specifications given in the notification.
  • Fill in the remaining details of the application form and use the “Preview” tab to verify all entries.
  • Click on “COMPLETE REGISTRATION” only after confirming that all details and uploads are correct, since no changes are allowed thereafter.
  • Proceed to the “Payment” tab to pay the requisite application fee, and click “Submit” to complete the process.
  • Take a printout of the e-Receipt and the submitted application form for future reference.
