PM Modi takes the education responsibility for Covid orphans under ‘PM Cares for Children’ Scheme

PM Modi to support the education of children who lost their parents due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, under PM Cares for Children scheme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently announced an initiative to support and encourage the educational values among children who lost their parents due to the brutal Covid19 Pandemic. PM Modi takes over the responsibility to educate the Covid orphans by providing them full support for their schooling and higher education.

No. of Students Approved

For the PM Cares for Children scheme, children who fit the criteria are considered to be eligible for the scheme. Children who were orphaned by the Covid-19 pandemic or have lost their primary caregiver between the 11th of March, 2020 to the 28th of February, 2022 are eligible for approval. A total number of 4,439 children have been approved for the ‘PM Cares for Children’ scheme.

PM Modi speaking about the scheme has said, “Today, the poorest of the poor are confident that they will receive benefits from government schemes. No poor person should be left out of government schemes is our utmost priority.”

Minister Smriti Irani’s words

The ‘Women and Child Development’ Minister Smriti Irani said that the nation stands in support of the children who have lost both their parents to the Covid-19 Pandemic. She added that PM Modi formed government is transferring the scholarship for school education on the day of completion of eight years is a message to the children that the nation and the Prime Minister cares for them. The Minister further added that during the Covid-19 period, a total of 80 crore citizens have received free rations.
