Pragjyotishpur University, Guwahati, has invited applications for the Pragjyotishpur University ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026. The posts are for the Four Year Integrated Teachers Education Programme (ITEP) at the university’s Chandrapur campus. The programme covers B.A. B.Ed. (Intermediate and Secondary), B.Com. B.Ed. (Secondary) and B.Sc. B.Ed. (Secondary).

Under this recruitment, the university will fill one Associate Professor post, who will also serve as Head of the Department, along with a number of Assistant Professor posts across subjects. The university has announced a total of 41 vacancies under the Pragjyotishpur University ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026. Of these, 35 posts are full-time and 6 are part-time.

Eligibility Criteria for ITEP Faculty Posts

Educational Qualification

Head of the Department (Professor or Associate Professor in Education):

• Postgraduate degree in Science/ Mathematics/ Social Science/ Commerce/ Languages.
• M.Ed. degree.
• Ph.D. in Education.
• Ten years of teaching experience in a teacher education institution for Professor and eight years for Associate Professor.
• Any other relevant qualification prescribed by the UGC.
• Desirable: Diploma/ Degree in Educational Administration or Leadership.

Assistant Professor in Liberal Discipline and Pedagogy:

• Postgraduate degree in the concerned subject or language (English/ Modern Indian Languages/ Classical Languages) with at least 55% marks.
• B.Ed. degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• National Eligibility Test (NET)/ State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or Ph.D. in Education or in the concerned subject, as prescribed by the UGC for these posts.
• Desirable: M.Ed. or M.Ed. with specialisation in Elementary Education, and Ph.D. in Education.

Assistant Professor in Educational Studies:

• M.Ed. degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• NET/ SLET or Ph.D. in Education or any other qualification prescribed by the UGC for these posts.
• Desirable: Master’s degree in Psychology/ Philosophy/ Sociology/ other allied subjects.

Assistant Professor in Health and Physical Education (Part-time):

• Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.

Assistant Professor in Arts Education (Part-time):

• Postgraduate degree in Performing or Visual Arts with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.

Assistant Professor in Career Guidance and Counselling (Part-time):

• Assistant Professor in Education having guidance and counselling as one of the papers in M.Ed., or a part-time Counsellor with an appropriate qualification in guidance and counselling.

Selection Procedure

The selection process for the Pragjyotishpur University ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026 may be conducted through an interview or any other mode, as per the notification to be provided by the university in future

• Matriculation/ HSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate (for proof of age)
• Certificates and mark sheets proving the educational qualification required for the applied post, such as the postgraduate degree, B.Ed. or M.Ed. as applicable.
• Proof of NET/ SLET or Ph.D., and teaching experience certificates for the Head of the Department post, as applicable.
