RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 has been announced by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Ministry of Railways, Government of India, through Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 05/2026. A total of 590 vacancies are to be filled across nine paramedical posts, including Nursing Superintendent, Pharmacist, Radiographer, and Lab Assistant.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
The age limit for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 is reckoned as on 1st January 2027 and varies by post, as given below.

Educational Qualification
The minimum educational qualification differs post-wise for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026, as detailed below.
- Nursing Superintendent: Registered Nurse and Midwife certificate with a 3-year course in General Nursing and Midwifery, or B.Sc. Nursing.
- Dialysis Technician: B.Sc. plus a Diploma in Haemodialysis, or two years of satisfactory in-house training/ experience in Haemodialysis work.
- Health & Malaria Inspector Gr II: B.Sc. with Chemistry as a subject, plus a one-year Diploma or National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Health/ Sanitary Inspector.
- Audiologist & Speech Therapist: Bachelor’s in Audiology or Speech Language Pathology (BASLP), registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Pharmacist (Entry Grade): Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Allopathic) or Doctor of Pharmacy, registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
- Radiographer X-Ray Technician: 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry plus a Diploma in Radiography/ X-Ray Technician/ Radiodiagnosis Technology (2-year course).
- ECG Technician: 10+2/ Graduation in Science with a Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in ECG Laboratory Technology/ Cardiology.
- Optometrist: B.Sc. in Optometry or Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician (3-4 year course) with Council/ Licensing body registration.
- Lab Assistant Gr. II: 12th (10+2) in Science plus a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or equivalent certificate course.
Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification as on the closing date of application, i.e. 14th October 2026. Those awaiting their final results are not eligible to apply.
Nationality
Applicants must be citizens of India, or citizens of Nepal, or subjects of Bhutan, or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to possession of an Eligibility Certificate where applicable.
Standards of Medical Fitness
Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification (DV) will have to clear the prescribed medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration, based on the medical standard (B1, C1 or C2) fixed for each post. Candidates found medically unsuitable for the opted post will not be given any alternative appointment.
Selection Process
Selection for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 will be based on the following stages.
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination
Shortlisting for DV will be done RRB-wise at a ratio of 1:1 of vacancies, based on merit in the CBT, subject to candidates securing the minimum qualifying marks for their respective community.
Exam Pattern
The CBT for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 will be of 90 minutes duration for 100 questions, and 120 minutes for PwBD candidates eligible for scribe assistance. There will be negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each wrong answer.

Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for UR/ EWS, 30% for OBC (NCL) and SC, and 25% for ST candidates, which is also applicable to Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates as per their community.

- Scanned signature in JPG/ JPEG format as per the prescribed specifications
- SC/ST certificate in PDF format, for candidates requesting free train travel pass
- Original certificates and two sets of self-attested photocopies, at the time of Document Verification

- Pay the applicable examination fee through the online mode.
- Submit the application and save the confirmation received through email and SMS.
