SSC CPO 2026: Apply Online For 1,871 Sub-Inspector Posts In Delhi Police And CAPFs

SSC CPO 2026 registration is open from 10th September to 30th September 2026 for 1,871 Sub-Inspector vacancies in Delhi Police, CAPFs and CISF Fire.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026, popularly known as SSC CPO 2026. The Commission uploaded the notice on its website on 10th September 2026 under advertisement E/37/ 2026-C-2 Section. Through this examination, SSC will select candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector (GD) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF.

A total of 1,871 tentative vacancies have been notified this year, covering Delhi Police and CAPFs such as CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, and SSB. Departmental candidates among Constables, Head Constables and Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Delhi Police with at least three years of service can also apply for the Open Vacancies of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police-Male, subject to the applicable age limit. Within Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs, the force-wise break-up is BSF (457), CRPF (254), CISF (250), ITBP (187) and SSB (172). Reservation for UR, EWS, OBC, SC and ST candidates, along with Ex-Servicemen quotas, is applicable across posts as per extant Government rules, and the complete category-wise figures are available in the official notification.

SSC CPO 2026 Pay Scale

All three posts carry the pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35,400 – Rs.1,12,400/-). Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF are classified as Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial, while Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police is classified as Group ‘C’ by Delhi Police.

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan holding a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

SSC CPO 2026: Selection Process

Selection will be made through Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper-II and Detailed Medical Examination (DME), followed by Document Verification. All stages are mandatory, and candidates must qualify each stage to proceed to the next.

Exam Pattern

Paper-I and Paper-II of SSC CPO 2026 will both be objective multiple-choice type, set in Hindi and English, with the difficulty level of Paper-II higher than that of Paper-I.
