SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2023: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification inviting applications to fill vacancies against 1207 posts in the recruitment of Stenographers. The application portal for SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2023 is open from the 3rd of August and will be live till the 23rd of August 2023. Eligibility criteria for SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2023
(i) Age
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age (Grade C): 30 years
- Candidates born not before 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.2005 are eligible to apply.
- Maximum age (Grade D): 27 years
- Candidates born not before 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2005 are eligible to apply.
- Relaxations in upper age limit:
- Schedule Caste/ Scheduled Tribe (SC/ ST): 5 years
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): No Relaxation
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + OBC: 13 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + SC/ST: 15 years
(ii) Educational Qualification
- Completion of class 12th examination: The candidate looking to apply for SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2023 should have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- Stenography Proficiency Assessment: Those candidates who qualify in the Computer Based Examination will need to participate in a Stenography Skill Test. During this test, candidates will receive a 10-minute dictation in either English or Hindi (based on their choices in the online Application Form) at a speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The dictated matter must be transcribed on a computer.

How to Apply?
- First of all, the applicant will have to register himself/ herself on the SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2023 online Engagement Portal with their details (Scroll Down For the Link)
- Once the registration number is generated, candidates will need to login into the portal
- However, candidates registered for previous recruitment drives in the year 2023 can apply with the same Registration number without redoing the registration again
- Now, they will need to enter a few personal details, address information, and then put up the marks obtained in Class 12th
- Add all the necessary skill certificates along with all the required documents
- Lastly, upload a photo & signature, pay the application fee and submit the form for SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2023
- Also, candidates are advised to download and take a printout of the application form for future references
Application Fees
A fee of Rs. 100/- is to be paid by the applicants for all posts notified in the advertisement. However, payment of fees is exempted for all female applicants, SC/ ST applicants, PwD applicants, and applicants who have served for the country i.e. Ex-Servicemen (ESM).
