Statistics Field Assistant Recruitment 2026: The State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-III Posts, Assam, has invited online applications for the Statistics Field Assistant Recruitment 2026. A total of 72 posts of Field Assistant (Statistics)/ Enumerator will be filled under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Integrated Sample Survey (ISS)”.

The posts fall under the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Assam, Chenikuthi, Guwahati-03. The scheme follows a 90:10 sharing pattern, where the Government of India bears 90% of the expenditure and the Government of Assam bears the remaining 10%. Applications will open on 15th October 2026 and the last date to apply is 14th November 2026.

Vacancy Details

The Statistics Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 has 72 vacancies, which will be filled against existing vacancies as shown in the Post-Based Roster Register. The category-wise breakup is given below.

Note: There are PwBD reservations under Statistics Field Assistant Recruitment 2026. PwBD refers to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. Ex-Servicemen candidates must upload the Ex-Servicemen Identity Card issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office of Assam and their Discharge Book while applying for the reserved post.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be paid as per the pay structure below, along with other allowances admissible from time to time.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the nationality, age, educational and other requirements given below to apply for the Statistics Field Assistant Recruitment 2026.

Nationality

Applicants must be Indian citizens as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years as on 1st January 2026
• Maximum age: 40 years as on 1st January 2026

The age will be calculated on the basis of the HSLC/ Class X Pass Certificate or Admit Card issued by a recognised Board/ Council, where the date of birth is clearly shown. No other document will be accepted for this purpose.

The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as per existing provisions. It is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST, 3 years for OBC/ MOBC, 10 years for PwBD and 2 years for Ex-Servicemen candidates.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have one of the following:

• A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in any subject, having studied at least one paper of Statistics/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Social Science/ Sociology/ Psychology at graduate level
• A Bachelor’s degree in any subject with 50% marks in Mathematics at 12th standard

Language and Computer Knowledge

• Candidates applying under Statistics Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 must have studied both English and any one local language (Assamese, Bengali or Bodo) as subjects during HSLC.
• Candidates must have knowledge of computers and be comfortable with keying in data through a handheld device. They must hold and upload a Computer Course Certificate of at least 6 months’ duration from a Government-recognised institute.

Other Requirements

• Candidates applying under Statistics Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 must hold a valid Employment Exchange registration certificate in the State of Assam.
• PwBD candidates must have a benchmark disability of 40% or more and produce the required certificate from the competent authority. Selected PwBD candidates will undergo a medical examination by a Board, and appointment will be given only after the benchmark disability is ascertained.
• Candidates already in regular Government service must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the competent authority as and when asked.

Selection Process

• The selection of candidates under Statistics Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 will be on the basis of merit.
• The details of the selection procedure and the examination will be made available on the application portal from the starting date of application.
• Candidates who wish to be considered under the Assam Public Services (Preferential Appointment) Rules, 1999 must indicate their choice in the application portal. Canvassing, directly or indirectly, will disqualify a candidate.

• Benchmark Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority (for PwBD candidates)
• Ex-Servicemen Identity Card and Discharge Book (for Ex-Servicemen candidates)
• Valid Employment Exchange registration certificate
• No Objection Certificate, if already in regular Government service (as and when asked)
• Declaration on “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A (as and when asked)
