Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notice on Monday, 28th February 2022 regarding the change of exam centre window for UPSC prelims 2022.
The UPSC Civil Service Examination (CSE) and Indian Forest Service (IFos) Preliminary Examination, 2022 are to be held on Sunday, 5th June 2022 all over India. The commission has recently decided to operate two additional exam centres one at Dharmshala and the other at Mandi in the State of Himachal Pradesh for the UPSC prelims 2022.
As a consequence of this, the commission has now decided to allow the applicants of UPSC Prelims 2022 for CSE and IFoS examinations to submit their revised choice of Centre.
Condidtion for change in UPSC prelims 2022 exam centre
The window of submitting the revised choice of Centres for UPSC prelims 2022 by the candidates will be operational in two phases i.e. 3rd -7th March 2022 (06.00 PM) and 10th-14th March 2022 (06.00 PM) on the Commission’s website. The commission has also clearly mentioned that the requests of the candidates for change in their Centres will be considered against the capacity intimated by the Centres for accommodating the candidates.

The candidates may please note that their requests for change in the Centres for UPSC prelims 2022 will be considered based on the principle of “first- apply-first allot” basis and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen and will not be visible to the candidate. The candidate will then be required to choose a Centre from the remaining ones.
The commission has also suggested the candidates visit the official website – upsc.gov.in and make changes only if required. Otherwise, there is no requirement to log into the aforesaid window. The pdf can be downloaded from the official website.
UPSC 2022 Mains
The candidates qualifying for the UPSC prelims 2022 will be eligible to appear for the UPSC 2022 mains for their respective examinations. The mains examination for Civil Service Examination (CSE) is scheduled to be held on Friday 16th September 2022 and for the Indian Forest Service, it is scheduled to be held on Sunday 20th November 2022 onwards.
