Scholarships for Tea Tribe students of Assam 2022: Here is all you should know about before applying

The Department of Tea Tribe Welfare Assam has recently announced Scholarships for Tea Tribe students of Assam. The Director has released a notification inviting online applicants for five scholarships for the academic year 2022-23.

List of Scholarships for Tea Tribe students

1. Post Matric Scholarship
2. Simon Sing Horo Special Post Matric Scholarship
3. Financial Assistance for Higher Studies
4. Financial Assistance for ANM /GNM /Technical Courses
5. Swahid Dayal Das Panika Swaniyojan Achoni

The online portal for the Scholarship is now open and will continue till the 31st of August 2022.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarships for Tea Tribe students

To apply for the Scholarship for Tea Tribe, the following eligibility criteria must be satisfied-

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam and must belong to the Tea Tribe Community of Assam.
• Undertaking on the annual family income stating that it does not exceed 5 lakh rupees per annum and should be submitted by the parent /guardian as per format.

Step to Register for Scholarships for Tea Tribe students

All the fresh candidates willing to apply for the Scholarship for Tea Tribe need to first register themselves in the sirishassam.in online portal

1. Visit the official website sirishassam.in
2. Click on the “Online Application” on the Home Page.
3. You will be redirected to an external link “Online Application Portal”.
4. For new users, click on the REGISTRATION link. Existing users can click on the log-in option.
5. Information to be provided by the applicant for registration-
   • Name
   • Gender
   • Email Id
   • Mobile number (To send OTP for 1st-time registration)
   • Password
   • OTP sent to your mobile must enter the space provided
   • Click on Register.

Documents Required for the Scholarships for Tea Tribe students

Documents required for Post Matric Scholarship, Financial Assistance for Higher Studies, and Financial Assistance for ANM/GNM/ Technical Courses are-

1. Original copy of Birth Certificate/HSLC Admit/HSLC Pass Certificate as age proof
2. Copy of Mark-sheet of the last examination passed to be uploaded
3. Admission fee receipt of the course undergoing/Recommendation from Principal
4. Undertaking on family income as per attached format
5. Original copy of caste certificate
6. The first page of the applicant’s bank passbook

Documents required for Simon Sing Horo Special Post Matric Scholarship are-

1. Original copy of Birth Certificate/ HSLC Admit /  HSLC Pass Certificate
2. Original copy of the HSLC / HSSLC mark sheet
3. Original copy of caste certificate
4. The first page of the applicant’s bank passbook

Documents required for Swahid Dayal Das Panika Swaniyojan Achoni are-

1. Original copy of Birth Certificate/HSLC Admit/HSLC Pass Certificate as age proof
2. Original copy of caste certificate
3. Undertaking affirming having less than 10 Bighas land
4. Undertaking on family income as per attached format
5. Original copy of Voter ID/ Aadhar/ PAN Card/Driving License
6. Original of trade license issued by gram panchayat/urban local bodies to be uploaded
7. Recommendation letter from Chairman to be uploaded

Important Points

• All beneficiaries of the scholarships for Tea Tribe students shall provide details of their own Bank Account in the application.
• In no case shall beneficiaries applying repeatedly from different Sub-divisions shall be considered for the scholarships.
