Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2025: The Gauhati High Court has released the advertisement for the post of Junior Administrative Assistant (JAA) Recruitment 2025. The application portal will open on the 15 July, 2025. Interested candidates will have time up to the 31 July, 2025 to submit their forms.

Pay Scale

The remuneration for candidates selected in the Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2025 will include salary and other allowances. The salary details are given below:

Eligibility

  • The candidate applying for Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2025 must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Article 5 to B of the Constitution of India and must be a permanent resident of Assam
  • He/ She should have proficiency in Assamese/ Local language
  • The candidate must produce an Employment Exchange Registration certificate in the state of Assam along with the application form.

Age

The candidates applying for Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2025 should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years of age. Relaxations in the upper age limit shall be as given below:

  • SC/ ST: 5 years
  • OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years

Educational Criteria

  • The applicant must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized University
  • The candidate must possess a minimum 3 (three) months Diploma/ Certificate in computer proficiency

Selection Process:

The selection process under Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2025 is divided into three stages, culminating in a final merit list based on cumulative scores.

Stage 1: Common Written Test (120 Marks)

This stage consists of an OMR-based objective multiple-choice written test of two-hour duration.

  • Total Marks: 120
  • Negative Marking: Yes, 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Sections:
    • (i) General Subjects (100 Marks):
      • General English: 50 marks
      • General Knowledge including Computer Knowledge: 30 marks
      • General Aptitude: 20 marks (Qualifying in nature; qualifying marks: 8 marks, which is 40% of 20 marks)
    • (ii) Official Language of Assam (Assamese): 20 Marks
      • Note: Marks obtained in the Assamese language segment will not be counted in preparing the merit list of the written test or the final select list. This section is for assessment of language proficiency only.
  • Shortlisting for Stage 2: Candidates will be shortlisted in a ratio of 1:5 (five times the total posts for a particular district) from the rank-wise mark-sheet of the written test (excluding Assamese language marks).

Stage 2: Computer Skill Test (35 Marks)

Candidates shortlisted from Stage 1 under Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2025 will proceed to this stage.

  • Total Marks: 35
  • Components:
    • (a) Computer Typing Test in Typing Application Software (20 Marks):
      • Assessment of typing speed and accuracy (Correct Words Per Minute/Net Speed) based on typing a provided paragraph.
    • (b) Proficiency in Word Processor and Spreadsheet (15 Marks):
      • Assessment of practical skills in using word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Shortlisting for Stage 3: Candidates will be shortlisted in a ratio of 1:3 (three times the total number of posts for a particular district) from the combined rank-wise mark-sheet of the Written Test (100 marks from Stage 1) and the Computer Skill Test (35 marks from Stage 2).

Stage 3: Viva-voce (15 Marks)

Candidates shortlisted from Stage 2 will proceed to this stage.

  • Total Marks: 15

Final Selection:

The final selection under Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2025 will be made district-wise based on the grand total marks obtained by the candidates, calculated as follows:

  • Grand Total Marks (Out of 150):
    • Marks from Written Test (Out of 100)
    • Marks from Computer Skill Test (Out of 35)
    • Marks from Viva-voce (Out of 15)

The merit list for final selection will be prepared based on these cumulative scores.

Note: In case of candidates applying in Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2025 obtaining the same grand total marks, the candidate who obtains more marks in the Written Test and Computer Skill Test combined will be given preference. Where marks obtained by such candidates in such scenario are also same, then the candidate who is senior in age will be given preference.

    • No Objection Certificate (For Govt. Employee)
    • Small Family Norms Declaration (Given Below)
