Forest Ranger Recruitment 2025: APSC released advertisement for 50 vacancies

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released the advertisement via ADVT. NO. 22/2025 for Forest Ranger Recruitment 2025 under the Environment & Forests Department, Government of Assam. A total of 50 vacancies have been announced. Interested candidates CAN apply online through the APSC portal between 21 June and 20 July 2025.

Vacancies of Forest Ranger Recruitment 2025

A total of 50 job openings have been announced for Forest Rangers in the Assam Forest Service. The category-wise breakup is as follows:

Pay Scale

• Pay Band: PB-3 (Rs. 22,000/- to Rs. 97,000/-)
• Grade Pay: Rs. 10,300/-
• Other allowances as per Assam State Government norms

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
• Must possess a valid PRC issued for education/ employment or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
• Age limit: 21 to 38 years as of 01-01-2025.
• Age Relaxations:
  • 5 years for SC/ ST(P)/ ST(H)
  • 3 years for OBC/ MOBC
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering from a recognized university with at least one of the following subjects:
  • Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Applications/Science, Engineering (various streams), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology

Physical Standards

Selection Procedure

The selection process for Forest Ranger Recruitment 2025 will consist of the following stages:

(1) Written Exam (600 Marks)

• Candidates must appear for four papers, including two optional subjects.
• Optional subjects (any two): Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Applications, Engineering (various branches), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology
• The standard of questions will be of Bachelor’s Degree level.

(2) Walking Test & Medical Exam

• 25 km for males, 16 km for females in 4 hours
• Followed by a medical exam by the Medical Board

(3) Interview

• Only those candidates who pass the previous stages of Forest Ranger Recruitment 2025, including medical examination will be called for the interview.
• It will be of 75 Marks.

(4) Training/ Probation

• Based on the performance of candidates, the Commission will recommend 50 aspirants to be appointed as Forest Rangers on probation by the State Government.
• They must join the designated training college on the first day of the 18-month Certificate Course in Forestry.
• After completing the 18-month training, candidates will receive a Certificate in Forestry and be appointed against the vacancies of Forest Ranger Recruitment 2025.

• HSLC Admit Card as proof of age
• Educational certificates and mark sheets
• Degree/ Diploma certificates
• Caste/ Category certificates (if applicable)
• PRC/ Employment Exchange Registration Certificate
• NOC from employer (for Govt. employees)
• Declaration Form-A (small family norms)
• BPL Certificate (if applicable)
• Passport size photo and signature (max 200 KB each)

• Next, click on the button given for New Registration
• Then, candidates will have to register by providing their mobile number and email, along with other personal details
• Based on the above information, the registration number will be generated
• However, if the candidate has previously registered in the APSC’s recruitment portal, they can use the old login credentials
• After successful registration, candidates must log in using the credentials and fill out the online application form
• Enter all the details as directed and upload the essential documents in the prescribed format
• After this, the candidate must complete the application form by paying the application fee
• Then, the candidate must preview the application form and click on the “submit” button
• Lastly, take a printout of the payment receipt and application form of Forest Ranger Recruitment 2025 for future reference
