Central University of Jharkhand PhD admission 2025: The Central University of Jharkhand has released a notification inviting online applications from eligible candidates for admission to various PhD programs offered by around twenty-five Departments/ Centres for the current academic session. The application portal is already live, and interested candidates have time upto the 21st day of March to apply for the same.

Eligibility Criteria

A master’s degree or qualification is declared equivalent to a master’s degree/ M.Phil. in a concerned or relevant subject.
National Eligibility Test (NET) of University Grants Commission / Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of the following categories as per UGC Public Notice dated March 27, 2024:
- Category-1: Eligible for (i) admission to Ph.D. with JRF and (ii) appointment as Assistant Professor.
- Category-2: Eligible for (i) admission to Ph.D. without JRF and (ii) appointment as Assistant Professor.
- Category-3: Eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme only and not for the award of JRF or appointment as Assistant Professor.
Only scores of December 2023, June 2024, and December 2024 cycles of UGC/ CSIR-NET examinations will be considered for eligibility.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in a relevant or allied subject, and a certificate issued on or after January 01, 2022, will be eligible for Ph.D. programs of Engineering discipline and Geoinformatics.

Selection Procedure

The merit list for Central University of Jharkhand Ph.D. admission shall be prepared based on the joint merit of the following components, with the final selection determined by their total percentile/ score out of 100:

Total percentile/ score computed by Agency in Entrance Examination (i.e. UGC-CSIR NET/ GATE etc.)	70%
Interview	30%

The minimum qualifying marks shall be 50% for General category candidates and 45% for SC/ ST/ OBC
(Non-Creamy Layer)/ EWS/ PwD categories candidates of both components in aggregate.
