Salary/Benefits/Pay Scale
- Project Manager: Rs. 1,25,000 – 2,00,000/- (Consolidated)
- Project Scientist-II: Rs. 67,000/- + HRA, with increments based on performance
- Project Scientist-I: Rs. 56,000/- + HRA, with increments based on performance
- Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 42,000 + HRA (NET/ GATE qualified) or Rs. 28,000 + HRA (Non-NET/GATE)
- Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000 + HRA (NET/ GATE qualified) or Rs. 25,000 + HRA (Non-NET/ GATE)
- Project Assistant/Technical Assistant: Rs. 20,000/- + HRA
- Consultants (Scientific): Fixed Rs. 80,000/- per month
- Consultants (Non-Technical): Rs. 35,000/month or last basic pay drawn – basic pension (whichever is less)
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Project Manager: Minimum 45 years
- Project Scientist-II: Maximum 40 years
- Project Scientist-I: Maximum 35 years
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Maximum 32 years
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Maximum 28 years
- Project Assistant/Technical Assistant: Up to 50 years
- Consultants (Scientific and Non-Technical): Up to 65 years (relaxation applicable)
Educational Qualifications
- Project Manager: Ph.D. in Physics/ Oceanography/ Marine Science with 20 years of research experience
- Project Scientist-II: Master’s degree in relevant Marine Sciences or Life Sciences with 3 years of experience; Ph.D. desirable
- Project Scientist-I: M.Sc./ M.Tech in Physics/ Oceanography/ Marine Science, first class; Ph.D. desirable
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Master’s degree in relevant sciences with 2 years of experience; NET/ GATE qualification affects pay
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or equivalent with first class; NET/ GATE qualification affects pay
- Project Assistant/ Technical Assistant: B.Sc. in Marine Science/ Fishery Science or diploma with 60% marks
- Consultants (Scientific and Non-Technical): Relevant Master’s degree with minimum 15 years of experience; doctoral degree preferred for scientific posts
Experience
- Extensive research experience and handling of oceanographic data is required for senior posts.
- Relevant experience in marine sciences, biotechnology, bioinformatics, and law is mandatory for respective posts.
- Experience in handling specific techniques such as cell culture, AI/ ML, molecular biology, geoinformatics, fisheries acoustics, and legal affairs is required for specialized positions.
