CRPF Recruitment 2026: Apply now for 521 Head Constable & Constable (GD) vacancies

CRPF Recruitment 2026 for 521 Head Constable and Constable (General Duty) posts under the Sports Quota for meritorious sportspersons has been announced. Advertisement No. R.II-21/2026-Sports was issued by the Directorate General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, on 17th September 2026.

Male and female candidates who are ordinarily residents of India can apply online. Under CRPF Recruitment 2026, the online application window will open on 12th October 2026 and close on 11th November 2026. The posts are Group C, non-gazetted and non-ministerial, and are temporary but likely to be made permanent.

CRPF Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

A total of 521 vacancies will be filled in various sports disciplines. The post-wise vacancies are given below.

The vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease at any stage of the recruitment process. The event-wise break-up for each discipline is available in the official notification.

CRPF Recruitment 2026 Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be paid as per the 7th CPC pay matrix. Dearness Allowance, HRA and other allowances admissible in CRPF will also be paid, as per Government orders. The New Defined Contributory Pension Scheme will apply to selected candidates.

CRPF Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• Head Constable (GD) and Constable (GD): 18 to 23 years as on 1st August 2026
• Candidates should not have been born earlier than 2nd August 2003 and later than 1st August 2008

Sportspersons from reserved categories and Ex-Servicemen are entitled to age relaxation. Candidates should check the official notification for the complete category-wise details.

Educational Qualification

• Head Constable (GD): 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised Board/ University, or equivalent Army qualification in the case of Ex-Army personnel
• Constable (GD): Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification as on 11th November 2026. Date of birth and name as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted for CRPF Recruitment 2026.

Sports Qualification

Only players who have represented or won medals in the prescribed competitions between 30th September 2024 and 30th September 2026 are eligible to apply.

Head Constable (GD):

• Sportspersons who have represented the country in recognised international competitions, with clearance from the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports
• Sportspersons who have represented a State/ UT in National Games or Championships organised by recognised National Sports Federations, or National Games organised by the Indian Olympic Association, with medals or positions up to 3rd place
• Sportspersons who secured first or second position in an individual event in Inter University Tournaments. In team events, the team must have reached the final
• Sportspersons who won a Gold or Silver medal in an individual/ team event at Junior National level Games/ Championships organised by recognised National Sports Federations

Constable (GD):

• Sportspersons who have represented a State in Senior/ Junior National level Games/ Championships organised by recognised National Sports Federations
• Sportspersons who have represented State School Teams in National Games for Schools conducted by the School Games Federation of India, with medals or positions up to 3rd place
• Sportspersons who have represented a State/ UT in Khelo India University Games/ Youth Games/ Winter Games, with medals or positions up to 3rd place
• Sportspersons who have represented their University in Inter-University Tournaments

Nationality

Candidates must be Indian citizens who are ordinarily residents of India. Persons with disabilities (PwD) are not eligible to apply. Candidates already in Government or semi-Government service must apply through their employer with a No Objection Certificate.

Selection Process

Candidates whose online applications are found in order will be issued online admit cards. The selection process for CRPF Recruitment 2026 consists of identity verification, including biometric capture, document verification, Physical Standard Test (PST), Sports Trial Test, and Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME).

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks awarded for sports achievements. No marks will be given for the Sports Trial Test, but candidates who fail the trial test will not be considered. In case of a tie, the older candidate will be given priority.

Marks For Sports Achievements

Marks will be awarded for only the single highest medal or position secured during the eligible period.

Physical Standards

The minimum height for general category candidates is 170 cm for males and 157 cm for females. Male candidates must have a chest of 80 cm unexpanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. Weight should be proportionate to height and age.

Relaxation is available on production of the prescribed certificate at the time of PST. Some of the relaxed height standards are given below.

For male candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and the Garhwali, Kumaoni, Dogra and Maratha categories, the relaxed unexpanded chest is 78 cm. The complete list of relaxations is given in the official notification.

Shortlisted candidates will be medically examined as per the CAPF medical guidelines. Candidates declared unfit in the DME may opt for the RME by giving written consent within 24 hours.

Selected candidates will have to submit a bond of Rs. 1,00,000/- to serve the Force for at least 3 years.

• Educational and sports certificates
• Domicile and caste certificates, if applicable
• Matriculation or Class 10th certificate for verification of date of birth
• OBC (NCL), SC/ ST or EWS certificate in the prescribed format, as applicable
• Undertaking for OBC (NCL) candidates
• No Objection Certificate for candidates in Government service
• Certificate for height and chest relaxation, if applicable
• Four latest passport-size photographs, same as those submitted with the application form
• Original photo identity proof and Aadhaar card

How to Apply for CRPF Recruitment 2026?

• Visit the application portal by clicking on the link given below in the “Important Links” section.
• Create a profile on the portal and upload the sports certificate supporting your highest medal, position or level of participation before applying.
• Fill in the application form carefully, writing your name, date of birth and parents’ names exactly as in the Matriculation certificate.
• Select the post and sports discipline you are applying for.
• Upload your photograph, signature, thumb impression and the required certificates.
• Pay the application fee online, if applicable, and submit the form.

Only one application is allowed per candidate, and offline applications will be rejected. Candidates can make corrections in the submitted form from 12th November 2026 to 14th November 2026, although changes to personal particulars will not be entertained.
