CUET 2022 will be conducted in 13 languages; all you should know

The Common University Entrance Test, CUET 2022 will be conducted in 13 languages, UGC confirms.

The Secretary of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof. Rajnish Jain, issued a public notice recently stating that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to Undergraduate programmes will be conducted in 13 languages in all UGC funded central universities. by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Medium of Examination for CUET 2022

The Common University Entrance Test for the year 2022 will be conducted in 13 languages. The 13 mediums of examination are namely Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Odia, and English.

Participating institutes

The CUET has been made mandatory for admission into the undergraduate programmes in 45 Central Universities, although the Universities will be granted some liberty to decide their admission procedure. On the other hand, many other institutes have willingly agreed to opt for the CUET score in their admission process; as conveyed by M. Jagadesh Kumar, the new Chairman of UGC.

There is a possibility that the Common University Entrance Test examination may also be adopted by the State, Private, and Deemed to be Universities. From the 7th of April, the application forms have been issued and for further details, one can visit the NTA website. It is also declared that huge participation in CUET has been confirmed by various Central Universities Post Graduation (PG) programs, the details of which will be shortly available on the NTA website

The Chairman of UGC Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar stated that “We are planning to contact the head of state universities so that they also join the Common University Entrance Test system. We will be more than Welcoming if private universities, deemed universities, and state universities wish to use CUET scores in their admission process.”

Exam Pattern

The structure of the entrance test lies in three sections. The first section comprises questions on reading comprehension, verbal ability, synonyms, and antonyms. The second section is subject-specific and 27 subjects have been listed in this section so far. The third section comprises two sub-groups, general tests for vocational and open eligibility programmes.
