CUET 2022 Registrations to begin on 6th April; eligibility, new dates, exam pattern

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the dates for registration and conduct of the Common University Entrance Test or CUET 2022.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notification today, on 2nd April 2022, and announced the new dates for starting the registration process for Common University Entrance Test, also known as CUET 2022. Earlier the registration process for CUET 2022 was planned to start on the 2nd of April, but now it is postponed up to the 6th of April, 2022.

Eligibility Criteria for CUET 2022

Any candidate who is currently in their 12th standard or has passed Class 12 or equivalent examinations with a minimum of 50% marks from any of the central or state boards in India is eligible for this examination. Candidates need to visit the official website of universities and institutions, where they want to study and check the information brochure regarding admissions 2022 for more info on the eligibility criteria, as participating institutions may have their own eligibility criteria for admissions, set beforehand.

How to apply for CUET 2022?

All the candidates who wish to take admissions in undergraduate courses offered by the participating universities and colleges through CUET 2022 can apply for the same by visiting the official website of CUET (UG) – 2022. Though the website is public, the application portal is not made live till now, it is expected to be completely live on 6th April 2022.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus: CUET 2022

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and the paper will be of objective type with Multiple Choice Questions. There will be 13 mediums of the examination, i.e. Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu and candidates can choose the language as per their choice while filling out the application forms.

The CUET 2022 will have 3 sections and the syllabus of all of them are as below:

  • Section I: This section of the test paper will be based on languages, and candidates’ abilities will be tested through Reading Comprehension.
  • Section II: The second section of the paper will have questions from the NCERT Syllabus of Class 12th standards.
  • Section III: The third section of the paper will have questions from General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
