Navodaya Class 11 Admissions 2026: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the deadline for submitting online forms for Class 11 admissions in the prestigious Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in each district for the 2026-27 academic session.
The admissions against the vacant seats will be done solely based on the student’s performance in the Lateral Entry Selection Test or LEST, which will be conducted on the 7th of February, 2026. The last date to apply for the Navodaya Class 11 Admissions 2026 was 23rd of September. However, this deadline is now extended till the 7th of October 2025.

Who can Apply?
Here are the eligibility conditions that every candidate needs to satisfy to apply for Navodaya Class 11 Admissions 2026:
- The date of birth of the student should be between the 1st of June 2009 to the 31st of July 2011 (both days inclusive).
- The student must complete their class 10th in 2026 (2025-26 academic session) from any Government-recognized school.
- The school must be from the same district/ state, in which they are applying.
- Please note that the above-mentioned eligibility criteria are applicable to all irrespective of the categories (UR/ EWS/ OBC/ MOBC/ ST/ SC) of the student.
Selection Procedure
- There will be an entrance exam called the Lateral Entry Selection Test or LEST 2026 (XI) for selecting eligible candidates against the vacant seats of Navodaya Class 11 Admissions 2026.
- The selection test will have 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks.
- Candidates will get 2 hours and 30 minutes (11:00 AM to 01:30 PM) to appear in the exam.
- The medium of the test paper will be English/ Hindi.
- The test will consist of 5 sections, each having 20 questions in each section:
- Mental Ability
- English
- Science
- Social Science
- Mathematics
- The candidate has to score a minimum of 6 marks out of 20 in all subjects.
- However, the merit list for admission will depend on only three subjects.
- Science Stream: Mental Ability + Science + Mathematics
- Commerce Stream: Mental Ability + Social Science + Mathematics
- Humanities: Mental Ability + Social Science + One subject out of the remaining three subjects with the highest marks
- Vocational: Mental Ability + two more subjects out of the remaining four subjects with highest marks
- Also, in addition to the sectional cut-off mentioned above, the overall cut-off out of 60 will be considered as per the following details.
- For Gen/ OBC Boys : 21
- For Gen/ OBC Girls : 20
- For SC/ ST/ Divyang candidates: 18

Fee Structure
- The education in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is free, including board & lodging, uniforms, and textbooks.
- The students from classes VI-VIII need not provide any fees.
- Each month a sum of Rs 600 is collected from students in Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN).
- The students belonging to SC/ ST categories, all Girl students, and the students whose family income is below the Poverty Line (BPL) are exempted.
- In respect of wards of Government employees other than the exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ ST & Girl students, and wards of BPL families), Vikas Nidhi will be charged with Rs. 1500/- per month or actual children’s education allowance received by the parent, whichever is less.
- The VVN shall not be less than Rs. 600/- per student per month.

- First of all, visit the admission portal of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti
- Click on the link given for Registration
- Choose the state and district, then enter candidate’s personal and communication details
- Next upload the candidate’s photo, signature, and also a signature from any one of the parents
- Lastly, enter the candidate’s academic information and submit the application form
- Do not forget to download a copy of the application form after final submission and keep it safe, as it will be required for future references
