Divyangjan Scholarship 2026: Apply for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Top Class Scholarships under NSP

Divyangjan Scholarship 2026 is open for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Top Class students with disabilities via the National Scholarship Portal.

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has invited applications for the Divyangjan Scholarship 2026 covering three components: Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, and Top Class scholarships for differently abled students. These scholarships are implemented for the academic year 2026-27 through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

The Divyangjan Scholarship 2026 is meant to support students with benchmark disabilities at different stages of their education, from Class IX up to postgraduate and professional courses in notified institutes of excellence. Eligible students must complete the required registration process and apply within the prescribed timelines to avail the benefits.

Scholarship Components

The Divyangjan Scholarship 2026 is implemented in three separate components based on the level of study.

Eligibility Criteria

Disability Criterion

  • All three components of the Divyangjan Scholarship 2026 are open only to students with benchmark disability, meaning 40% or more disability.
  • Applicants must hold a valid disability certificate issued by the competent authority, or a UDID card showing 40% or above disability.

Annual Parental Income

  • Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship: Parental/ Guardian’s income from all sources must not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum.
  • Top Class Scholarship: Parental/ Guardian’s income from all sources must not exceed Rs. 8 lakh per annum.
  • For both categories, the income certificate must be obtained only from the Circle Officer of the respective Revenue Circle.

Bank Account and Aadhaar Linking

  • Applicants, or their parents in the case of minor applicants, must link their bank account with their Aadhaar number.
  • Aadhaar is mandatory for all applicants; for minor applicants applying without Aadhaar, the parent’s or legal guardian’s Aadhaar is mandatory instead.
  • An account number is not required separately for disbursement through the NSP, since the scholarship amount is credited directly into the Aadhaar-seeded bank account of the beneficiary.

Documents Required

  • Disability certificate issued by the competent authority, or a UDID card showing 40% or above disability.
  • Income certificate issued by the Circle Officer of the respective Revenue Circle.
  • Aadhaar-linked bank account details of the applicant, parent, or legal guardian, as applicable.

Steps to Apply

  • Visit the application portal by clicking on the link given below in the “Important Links” section.
  • Fresh and renewal applicants who are eligible for the National Scholarship must complete a One Time Registration (OTR) and also undergo authentication before applying for the Divyangjan Scholarship 2026 on the National Scholarship Portal.
  • OTR is completed through the mobile application “NSPOTR,” which is available on the Google Play Store.
  • Students who applied for the scholarship last year and have already received a reference ID via their registered mobile number will receive their One Time Registration (OTR) number accordingly.
  • Complete authentication and proceed to fill and submit the application for the relevant scholarship component on the NSP portal.
